Today i glue-ed the beginning together

First i put it together without glue to check if everything fits as planned..

and after that glue-ed everything together and clamped it up..

Moved it into the shed because maybe there will be rain..

And you have guessed it...... yes, dry time  :P

I hate dry time !

In the mean time.....who said I bought my belt sander for sanding ?

I plan on participating in this:

;D ;D ;D (Notice that the Bosch is very fast and easily beats the Wurth, even though the "driver" starts quite slow.... ;)

Etienne, what value are the pots ? If they are 5K I still have 2 here that came from my SW yoke. They are really pro quality and they still worked fine when I replaced them with the new one's.

dont know, i cannot see any value printed on them..

But according to the schematics of the chip earlier, they are 1M ohm

and in its path to the chip there is a resistor of 10K

Thanks for the offer though, but they still function fine, they are probably not used so much as in a comercial cabinet  :P

fitted the kickplate and glued it in place..

i was a bit too enthausiast with the glue
But that is removed already by now  ;)

I got a new camera for fathersday (thank you honey  ;)) and it has a option to do some effects..
lets try something "arcade stylish"...  my favorite while vectoring... HALFTONE  :D

By now i have applied Super Ully's technique on one of the side panels to prepare it for sidearts, its drying now and waiting for a sanding job..

I am a bit busy this week, (more later on that on this forum) so not much time to work on this..

Hi man,
realy nice project that you have there . :)

But why dismantle an authentic pong console?.. This model is georgous! My fav!

You can use a modern pong pcb.
Can be found in most Velleman dealer, like here:
http://www.electra-breda.nl/

It's called MK121 from velleman. cost about 20eur, and have a composite output ;)

Good luck for the rest. :)

Thanks, but i already hacked through the old pong console, and the leftovers are in the garbage bin...

That store is in my town, and is my "standard" electronic supplier  ;D

The Velleman kit isn't suitable and an offense against real Pong !!

It uses PUSHBUTTONS for up down movement of the paddles which is of course INSANE because you completely loose the speed factor of a pot that you can move as fast or slow as you want. this takes away 80% of the fun and original game feel.
Further, it looks really awkward. paddles and ball look WAY too thick, it's like playing Pong on a 5 cm. screen.
Everything else looks different too. Also.....the gameplay sucks even more, because it clearly doesnt make a difference if you hit the ball in the middle of the paddle or on the edge, which is very important of course to get different angles.

Look at this video from 19.48....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuE215b3bSQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Another thing: the ball is served from the paddle which is also wrong....

Yes, i need to agree, the velleman isnt suitable..

Lets just compare the differences between them only by image, not talking about controls yet..  ::)

Judge for yourself..

Lol!  ;D

Looks very good, and again, the speed is amazing.  :spaceace:

Btw, you should make smaller, Pong (or other arcade) themed bird houses, i would buy one right away!!  :o ;D :D
