What a great idea to make that 2nd floor a place for your XBOX etc! Carpet it all up, and get chairs or bean bags!  you could insulate the ceiling and cover it with thin carpet as well!   Lots of great potential up there!

Nah, whorehouses have mirrors on the ceiling.

At least, that's what I've heard....   ;D

yep, stage two will start in two weeks. This weekend I had a carpenter and an electrician over, i told them what I want and they will start on 10 december with isolating and finishing the internals of the shed and at the same time install all the electricity.

I will have enough space for appr. 20 cabs and a football table in my gameroom, and maybe a pinball and some console stuff (yes, it's going to be anb allround gaming heaven :) ) which means that the electricity plan has to be thought through very well. Like André's gameroom, and others, I will have a switchboard to control the power of the cabs by pairs (individually is just too much), ceiling lights per groups, other electrical outlets on the ceiling (for a beamer amongst others) and walls. Yeah, it will be a bit like a control room. I wonder what I will play more, the games or the switchboard.  ;D

By the way, the electrician was very enthousiastic about my electrical scheme which I prepared for him, which makes me very much wonder if he is any good!  ???

So yes, it continues, but I don't make any plans yet for the big opening. For all i know, something else comes in between and another delay is there.

Finally, after a year, progress have been made. Today was the start of phase 2, finishing the interior. First insulation works

Probably not very exciting to watch, but it was exciting for me.

I hope to finsih the insulation next week and start with the inner walls and electricity works.

And there I need some help, or tips. I will need a switch board or panel with 30 switches in order to be able to turn on/off cabs, lightning, lighted decoration and other stuff individually. The switch board will be placed on the wall near the entry door.

Now..... I got a quote for a switch board, but it was more than € 500 !!!! (for the Dutch guys: een meterkast met 30 1-polige automaten)  :o No way, José. Then I checked if it would be better to use simple and common wall switches, 5 switches in a row, 6 rows in height. But that is even more expensive.  >:(

so, who knows of a cheap way to get a kind of switch board solution?

Like Andre's, That will work out fine, not too expensive neighter IIRC

otherwise you could look for 2e hand switches, many times if someone rebuilds the house they replace all the switches and outlets because they dont like the style or something like that.

there is a possibility that you end up with different switches then, but if thats not a problem..
mayny time people who replace them throw the oldones in the trash..

but i think Andre's solution is much more nice  :)

This solution won't work for me, it's simply too deep. I have to think of something else.

Yep, but too deep. I suppose it needs about 15 or 20 cm space behind it, I don't have that.
