what are the most common fuses???
« on: September 03, 2009, 05:51:50 PM »
i have to order some replacement fuses, but it wouldn't be clever to order fuses for 1 euro and pay 7 euros of postage - only to do the same thing the next time a fuse blows. therefore i want to order a whole fuse supply to be well-equipped for a long time to come. therefore my question:

what are the most common types of fuses (amps / slow-blow / fast-blow) you would order?
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

any news on the "translation theory" of the 110V and 220V types ?

i think the people from the other forum are refering to the 110V types...

don't you have a "electric components store" close to your place ?

i do, but they charge around 3 euros for ONE fuse  for that price i get around 20 online. i've just put together a nice collection of fuses which i'll be ordering soon.

The fuses commonly used on (US) cabs are the "large type" where in Europe (and I think Japan) most devices use the "mini" fuses.

Here's a pic:

Still, voltage ratings are usually always 250VAC even in the US where they use 120VAC.

Look for "fuse kits" that have a range of fuses in a box....

On special offer now (19% off):

This is a good mix of "euro" and "us" type fuses in all kinds of amps and F/T etc. ratings.

€29.50 for 180 fuses.....a lot better than 3 euro per fuse !
