Greetings from Sweden
« on: April 15, 2009, 08:00:01 PM »
Greetings from Sweden and I must say a fantastic site  :P

Been looking at this site for a year or two now and it is always nice to start the computer at work monday morning to see if anyone has done any new roadtrips or expanded their game room.

Don't have any dedicated cabs (I used to own Galaxian) but I do have three generic cabs with about 70 - 80 pcbs from mainly the early to late eighties. Live in Gothenburg in a rather small apartments and I will before the year is over move to an bigger apartment, sell at least one of the generic cabs and most of the games and then get some dedicated classics instead.

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to all great people at a very nice community  :)

Hello Mr_Konami,

Thanks for your support and your nice words about this website / board  :-*

As you can see, it's a small 'community' but there are a lot of interesting people around.  :-*

70-80 boards?  :o Impressive!

What happens to your dedicated Galaxian by the way?

Hope you'll still have good time here as an 'official' member now  :) :-*

Thank you DarthNuno,

yes small community, but rather a small community with nice people than big community full of bad people  ;D

I sold my Galaxian about 6 - 7 months ago to a none collector. I did not have enough room for it so it had to go and he at the time put out an add to purchase one. He still has it and it is still his only arcade game, and he doesn't plan on getting any more games. My only memory is this video I made for him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g6NDIAMLAM

Also I just made a small movie for you guys to show how it is living in a small place with arcade as an hobby. It might not in good way illustrate how much space the games take out of my total living space but atleast it will make you guys happy who has a dedicated gaming room http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_1QZSMsOMg

Cheers

Haha, yes my American pillow, love it! Lived in the United States for seven years of my life so I must support the country a little. But in my heart I am Swedish.

Sweet Slowcade, where in Norway do you live?

I live in Trondheim, so it's quite far away. But I was in Gothenburg last August, great city! I think I would always go to Liseberg to play if I lived there. We don't have any good arcades around here anymore.
(For those of you who haven't been there, I think I found some pictures HERE)

I see, well Trondheim is nice  :)

Well it has been a couple of years ago since I last visited Liseberg, unfortunately then most of their arcade games were more or less unplayable due to
faulty monitors, joysticks, guns etc. To bad since it is one of the last remaining big arcade halls in Sweden.

Instead I played lots of other games, basketball, throw darts at baloons etc, won a few prices as you can see in the picture (that is me to the right). Had to give up about 25 or 30 grand prices due to that we could not bring them onto rides or couldnt cary it all. In the end I brought home with me about 40 prices which I felt was ok!

Interesting... the control panel overlay is different... Does it is an original or a custom/home made one?

Also I just made a small movie for you guys to show how it is living in a small place with arcade as an hobby. Ok... I understand now why you have to make some choices  ::)  :)

The controlpanel overlay is supposed to be a reproduction of an orginal but I am not sure which version (from a european game or so) but when I bought it I also received an orignal (not an reproduction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=op2CoAtO5fc&feature=channel_page).

Yes small space, lots of arcade stuff but that is the way I like it  ;)
