I just replaced the vertical IC in one of mine due to a loss of vertical sync when warm. The TDA1470 used in the earlier MTC-900 is available from Cricklewood electronics in the UK. That sort of curling I usually associate with a bad cap - did you make sure they were all fitted the right way round?
