Falcon Ms.Pac Man DIP switches ?
« on: March 18, 2015, 10:43:23 PM »
Does anybody have the info for the DIP switches of a Falcon Ms.Pac Man board ?

Need to set it to free play if possible.

Also, original Ms.Pac has a soldering pad that switches between difficulties, does this board provide that setting too....?

Lastly, the pot is that a volume pot or a voltage pot...?

Yes very similar like this one:

However, this one has a pot on the far low left hand corner on this image instead of the other side.

Also there is an extra EPROM board on top of the EPROMs which is probably logical for Ms.Pac.

The attract screen is 100% like the Midway one including the logo.

DIP switches should be the same as an original Pac-Man. 1 and 2 both ON for freeplay. I think the Falcon PCB's are set up to use 2 different types of audio amps, one on either side of the board, and the volume pot is located next to which ever one they used, so that's why yours might not match the one pictured above (mine looks like the one pictured, except it has the extra ROM board over the ROMS in row 7 and only 2 ROM's in row 5 or 6...they kinda straddle both rows ;) ). As to the difficulty jumper, I'm not sure if these are equipped with them, but it'd surprise me if they aren't. On mine, I see a couple solder jumper pads at 9E, and both lead to the resister bank next to the DIP switch bank. A real Pac-Man PCB's difficulty (and alternate name) jumpers do the same thing. This is just a guess though, and if it messes up your board, don't blame me ;D

Good info, thanks.

Mmm, I did try to set both like the original for free play but it still wanted credits. Could be bad dip switches of course...
Yes there is something that looks like an audio amp near that pot.

Found this board in a Royal Video cabinet that I was asked to have a look at by a friend. It works fine but they hooked up the P2 button as the credit switch.

The Cabinet is from 1986 and there's a sticker saying Neo Geo on the back. The power supply is a huge switcher with a loud fan (probably at the end of its life).

The only real issue is has are on the Jamma edge connector, colors going out, sound not working, joystick up not working were all doen to bad contacts there. Will, replace the edge connector and I might actually pop a 60in1 in there if they like it.....it's good enough for people who have just one general cab :) and they're not anal about original like we are ;)
