Still can use it in horizontaal mode :)

It's the Aperture grill causing this.....its a bit like a curtain and because it moves when you tilt it you will get this result....

You could still try a degauss of course, it's worth it but I don't think that is the problem this time.

You can still use the Trinitron in horizontal mode of course....

Well, I'm using a Trinitron inside my galaxian cabinet, but the screen is more in a flat position than vertical, that certainly explains why I don't have this issue...interesting and good to know anyway  ;)

Hi André,

I confirm with a Sanyo tv it works correctly...

one more question :)

there is a Sanyo service menu to adjust the picture? or does it make the setting on the tv pcb?

Thanks, Berny

You'll hardly find anyone knowing the inside of a certain tv as there are thousand different models out there. A quick google search will give you the answer in a sec.
If there's no service menu then take a look on the chassis. Most tvs will have a least a few pots to adjust the picture but only a small number will have all the settings known from arcade monitors. Most tvs will have h-width coils like the older arcade monitors.

Robotron, Smash TV, Final Fight, Donkey Kong, Red Tent, Indiana Jones, Galaga 88, Roadblasters SD, Centipede cabaret, Asteroids cabaret, Phoenix cabaret, MVS-U4

Judging by the case of that TV i'm pretty sure it will have an electronic (menu-driven) set-up.

Indeed google is your best (only ?) friend here...

Found this....

SANYO
1.
* Unplug the power cable.
* Press and hold the {MUTE} button on the remote control while plugging the power cable back into the outlet.
* Keep pressing the {MUTE} button until the TV powers on with the Service Menu displayed.
* Use the {CH+} {CH-} buttons to select menus.
* Use the {VOL+} {VOL -} buttons to change settings.
* Some menus might have sub-addresses. Use the numeric buttons {0} to {7} to adjust sub-item data.
* Press the {MENU} button or turn the TV off to exit.

Hello André,

I found your first sequence for the set-up menu but not work ? so I made a small adjustment with the potentiometers on the  pcb... But not perfect...
I will try with your sequence 2

Thanks!
