what is this symbol ?

Hey guys, does anybody know what this symbol is ?

I have it on a capcom decal i am creating, and i guess it has something to do with the mains or isolation, but i cannot find it on the web..

anybody have a clue ?  Thanks !

I wondered this myself and didn't come up with much.  My closest guess was it was something like the UL/CE/SA.

Now i never have typed japanese, and i seem to remember you have some experience with this in your poleposition topic (iirc), any tips on how i can type those japanese text as in the pic above with a font ?

 I have looked through some Glyhps but there are so many symbols there  

I have traced it, but i think results will be more to my standarts if i type them and then outline them in the vectorfile..

Any help is appriciated on this

Cool! 

Unfortunately those are Kanji and are generally pretty difficult for beginners (like me!).  There are some kanji identifier sites online, but generally require you to know stroke order and what not - also tricky for beginners!

Since we have some context, I guess I'd suggest looking up things like "Wattage," "Voltage" and see if the translated results come up with the right characters.

To start, i dont want to sound negative with what i am going to say now:

I really dont care the translation at this moment, i just want the correct symbols.

(ofcourse its nice to know what it says, dont get me wrong, but to finish the file, i just need the symbols  )

Now for the positive part, i cannot thank you enough man !

Look what it does :



The first is the font, the second is the vectormagic vector i received from the guy that gave me the file, and the third is the raster.

I think since its a small decal on the back of a machine, that i will go with the font, i checked other fonts, but this is the closest i have.

Very acceptable IMHO !

any change you can find the other symbols also ?  i would be thankfull forever !

i have succesfully found the labels "volume" , "test switch" and "service switch" through google translate from english to japanese.

i have a few more japanese words that i miss:

1. warning label, i tried "danger" and "attention" but that does not match..



2. tried "yen" but thats not it ..



3. ??



4. Indoor application:  屋内用



5. ??



6. some sort of adress line i guess.



Some of them are pretty easy to trace by hand, but if someone has the text in a font like atari toobin did in the post before, i can just copy paste it, and that would be awsome !

Ok cool, I think I've figured out as much as I can and updated my last post.  Luckily #2 is big enough and simple enough that it shouldn't be too hard to vectorize (maybe some sort of inspection/QA tag?).  I'm pretty confident the rest is correct (hopefully no random animals or some such  )

found the two missing "??"  

製 造 means Manufacturing.

was playing around with product number and found the first symbol, later i saw some alternatives in google translate, and one was Manufacturing.

im getting better at it  

Its almost like playing memory  

so i think we are there now for all the labels i need to make..
