I really enjoy reading your repairs, another great job you did there. :spaceace:
If you will ever have time to take a look at a dead Dead Angle pcb, please let me know. ;)

Thnx, I'm very pleased that you enjoy the details.
Personally I always try to focus on the process rather than the result.
I've read far too many logs of the form: "IC blah at bleh was bad. So I changed it, and now the board works."
These kind of logs is of absolutely no use at all to anybody but repper himself.

I myself am greatly inspired by people like Womble (AussieArcade) and porchy (JAMMARCADE.NET), as they write very detailed logs also. It's important to tell people of all the dead-ends too, otherwise they might give up thinking they are no-good at repping, cause it takes so long time...

Thnx again for the kind words both of you. That is what keeps me going };-P

Haha, the first time I fired up a working 1942 PCB I actually thought, that the sound was defective. I had never tried the actual arcade game, only the C64-port, which btw has fantastic music. It was only when I found a YouTube-video of the gameplay, that I realized that the 'music' was suppose to sound that awful:
Kind'o'like a soccer referee with hiccups having swallowed his flute, and a sack of potatoes being dragged across a piece of sand paper...
...very disappointening experience };-S

What........do you guys mean those noises are intended to be music ?? I always though it was some kind of warning sounds of planes entering the scene or something....

It's a brilliant game though...the last true classic arcade shooter......after this things drifted off in a wrong direction....
