Will keep the tv flat i think, and those are exactly the two reasons why i went this route for the wood  :D

Love your choice of materials. :) Wood is very expensive these days and you are recycling ! :)

DAMN!!!!  How expensive is wood in Europe??  In Canada, I wouldn't be able to give away the pallets of wood!

compared to other places in the world i think wood is expensive, well at least in the DIY shops..

This is indeed bigger than what i have here, but its still € 22,- and then i am not recycling.

Recycling is the first reason that i use this, second is the price.
I mean, now its free, and otherwise this pallet would go to the dumpster.
Its not a so called "europallet" which are normally not going to the dumpster because they have deposit on them

Here's what my local home depot sells it (closest size I found was 1/2" thick 4'x8' sheet) at 17.45$CDN per sheet.   But a lot of times the store price is a lot less.

17.45$ CDN = 13.55 euro

Mind you that's going to be a STRONG cab!  Select spruce plywood means very little to no knots, high quality plywood.  If you went with MDF, the cost would be 50% of that (most late model cabs tend to use that).

And now you know why North American cabs are mostly made of wood -- because it's the cheapest material to build with!  :)

After the cardboard model, i moved over to the wood..

Let's check the depth of the cabinet after i added 5 cm to it.

Cutted the sheet up into two pieces, which i sandwiched so i can cut it out in one go.
First i drilled out the curve with a holecutter...

After that it was time for the Jigsaw to do its job  8)

The front part was cutout roughly, because one of the sheets was a tiny bit bigger..  :-\
My friend the beltsander took care of that.  ;D

After removing the clamps, i ended up with two identical sidepanels..

Lets put it a bit together to get a general idea of the end product..  ::)

It starts to look like a Pong cabinet !  :-*

Time to start with the other panels..

TBC..

A belt sander, now there's a tool I still need. I think CPOs will go off much quicker with one of those....

Ah....it's almost fathers day ;););)

Time to start creating the other panels..
Close your ears little helper  ;D

Sawing with care and using a guide is the most easy way IYAM  :P

Lets try it out and get a general idea of how it fits..  ::)

I just need to create the angles at the edges, and then i can start with the bottom and the back part..

Next up, planning the hole in the bezel..  8)

Glad the little helper covers his ears.....he seems to be dangerously close to that saw....

Great progress !! Gonna love to play this ! :)
