How do you pay the bills?

Strange question: what do you guys do for a living?

Of course, you don't have to answer, but it seems that, in terms of Arcade Lifestyle, I don't have even close to the time or the skills that you all seem to have. I was wondering if maybe your occupations have something to do with that.

I'm a lawyer. Long, long, long hours. It's 3 am and I'm in a taxi heading home from work. Hopefully I'll be able to spend some time over the weekend to work on my DK cab plans, but we'll see.

and i have a very high interest in everything technical, and have learned alot from own experiments

I commisssion and maintain fire alarms......but Id rather do something else....
I also do some user and colleague training which I really like doing...

i'm a teacher and when i started this hobby i knew ZIP about electronics and ZAP about woodworks.

fortunately, the pay for a teacher in germany is good (at least i'm happy about the money i get) AND i can't complain about the free time i have - i really can't! additionally, i do love my job!

there's only one thing i can complain about: me still living in this apartment without a real gameroom ...

i work as a sales and research person for the dutch national television archive, great job!

I build web sites/applications, and other stuff that runs on internet connected gizmos like iPhones and game consoles. Most of it under non-disclosure agreements because whoever hired me is pretending their company built it and/or is adding a fat percentage to my fee.

I also have hardly any spare time and am thinking of selling off a bunch of projects that will never get to the workbench at this rate

I'm an administrator for an EMI (Elderly and mentally infirm) care home, mainly dealing with older people with Dementia and Alzheimers.

Very demanding work, but also very rewarding.

I´m a carpenter, not much to say about that..... i know how to build a cab 
But the electronic aspect of this hobby gives me grey hair!!!!

I work for a city as a debt relief worker. Mostly involves trying to help people who are up to their eyeballs in debts. A lot of sad stories but when it works it is quite a satisfying job. Unfortunately I lack any and all skills when it comes to working with my hands so I can't restore anything. And that means I can only try and find cabs that are in mint condition (which are even harder to find then usual and cost a bomb  ) And that is why I only have one right now (almost two but that is too sad a story to tell again  ) But I stay optimistic! You never know what you might run into.

So, it seems that we are a pretty diverse group so far. It's also good to hear that I'm not the only one without any tech/wood skills.

As for the Rowan Atkinson bit, very funny. I'd say that about 50% of us lawyers belong in hell. I'd like to think that I'm in the other 50% though.

I do have electronics schooling and also IT (yes believe it or not but I'm a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer....but that was in my dark years....

Im scared by woodworking and any mechanical stuff though
