This takes most of my free time... I can't really progress (or even start) on my games restorations ... 'til that room is not ready

Nope, the ceiling will stay like that. It would be to much work to build a cap ceiling.

How are you going to heat and cool the new room?   I forget, I don't think you have the same problems with temperature and humidity like we do here.

Nice idea indeed, but there is a kind of 'plastic film' sticked on the roof. It seems not easy to remove... I prefer to let it 'as is' for the moment. I'll ask to the roof company who to proceed, and the real purpose of this plastic film...

Well, I'm doing basically the same job done the V1 & V2 game rooms. In addition, my father is a carpenter/mason... it helps a lot

I should use an electricity radiator to warm, but need some investigation to pick up the right one.
Well, I don't think I'll need something to cool the room... I'm not living in a furnace like you  I'll do what I'm doing when it's too hot in the game room : I open the doors  Working well so far.

Simply awesome, Bruno. You know, I'm a great fan of people who use their land to the limits of usage. Sadly I have no land to use because I live in an appartment. You have used your land optimally for a really good purpose. Beside your own pleasure, primarily for the preservation of this vintage amusement hardware, Galaxian III.

I think, at least in a clultural sense, such conduct should be sponsored by community / tax funds. These large machines aren't available today, only a few people are in possession of one. When I see how well you take care of yours, I wish that I were a billionaire so that I could wiz up a top secure climate controlled glass building for it on your land, with your permission ofcourse. People would see what it is, learn how to play it, and apretiate the superb digital interactive art once produced by the japanese amusement companies.

Electrical heating is very expensive in terms of electricity consumption. An airco that can also heat is much more energy efficient when heating because it works as a heat pump:

Heat pumps are used to provide heating because less high-grade (i.e., low-entropy) energy is required for their operation, than appears in the released heat. In general, most of the energy for heating in such systems comes from the external environment, and only a fraction comes from the high-grade energy source. For example, in an electrically powered heat pump, the heat power released to the conditioned environment can be typically two or three times larger than the electrical power consumed, making the system efficiency 200 or 300%, as opposed to the 100% efficiency of a conventional electrical heater, in which all heat is produced from input electrical energy

So airco will be much cheaper in the long run. Do get a pro to do it though, you will need the correct size airco for that large room ( a small unit cannot cope) and getting the pipes completely air and moist free is undoable.
If there stays air or moist in the system it will die soon....

No no! Don't worry, I don't plan to do a workshop inside the V3!

Ok, as you can see, the first layer of the walls insulation is done. The rafters on wall are also ready :



Before going further... It is time for the BIG step of ... the electricity!

Because the V3 is too big, I won't risk to 'improvise' the electricity map like I did in the previous lairs... I really need a specialist!

I remember a cool proposition from 'ombrenoire' (meaning 'black shadow' in english) to provide me help

Hell yeah! I've a TON of questions regarding 'how to energize that V3 big boy  

So after few mails with him, and then many phone calls, it's time for him to come 'on site' for the official site survey   He is living very close to me... it helps
