Beautiful result Luigi, your Ck cab with the original sidearts is a real treasure. ;)

Thanks Béla :)

Next I will try to remove that black colour from the t-molding. I hope that the silver one will still be there then. I will try water with a sponge at first so it won't get damaged. If that doesn't help I will use stronger "weapons" ;)

Thanks Etienne. Don#t put too much effort in this. I think I have some old leaf buttons left with better springs :)

I only found one spring that had no rust and I used it for the original red button. I used two new buttons for the white ones. They are a little too bright IMHO. But so far it looks very good  :)

Wonderful, do you have a full size pic from the cab with the new cpo?

Thanks.

Not yet. I have to do the bezel retainer first. I already made it (thanks Etienne for the drawing!) but of course it has to be painted black. Btw....can somebody post a pic of the screws that are used to mount the bezel retainer to the cab? Maybe I have some of them.

Oh, and there's still that black painting on the t-molding that has to be removed  ;)

@Etienne: to be honest...I'd like to have the original buttons in the panel so if I ever get my hands on some nice springs, they will return there   :)  But there's no hurry at all.

Maby you should try the "ataritoobin trick":

I don´t know if it will have the same effect on the buttons, or if the color will stay on...

Did someone scan the ASTRO WARS CP? I can see cab I'm restoring has a corrupted FIREBIRD cp.
A good photo could be enough for my graphics designer
