I just got word from the printers that the 3x CK CPO and 1x Custom Astrowars CPO are ready for pickup

Unfortunately, i am not sooner than this friday in the neighbourhood of the printer...  :-\

Anyway, Pics next friday ;D

Just got word from the Plexi manufacturer, and the panels will be ready next tuesday, and i have a customer close on wednesday, so i will pickup them next wednesday.

And today i picked up the first order:

3x CK and 1x custom astrowars..




They look white, but thats the bottom protective foil, the top protective foil is transparant.
I did not want to remove it yet, and will do that when i am ready for CPU installation..



I tried to take a macro pic from the starting point where the laser started to cut, because there is a very small line..
it was not visible in the picture due to the fact that the flash reflects so much light that you dont see it, and it very very tiny.
I asked the guys about it and they say it is because it has round corners and not straight, that they could not position the starting/ending point "outside of the cutting area

Maybe i am just too anal/critical..

Anyway, these are here and ready !  :spaceace:

Did a little test today with a scrap piece of cpu and plexi:

First test.. Applying dry.




Not too bad, but when i tried to reposition, i needed to be very carefull not to "stretch" the vinyl




Time to try wet as reccomended by the printerguys..
Plexi ready..




vinyl dropped on the plexi..




After squeeging the water out..




Very easy to "reposition", which is nessecary since the holes need to match up later...  :P




Tried cutting too, with a exactoknive using the edge as a guide, very easy to do also  :)




Its acctually pretty easy to do, i expected to be more difficult..
Now i need to find some time to apply my CPU to the plexi.

What i will do in the next, is wet both the plexi and the vinyl, that makes repositioning even easier.

I tried to peel off the vinyl , and i can say that the wet method does not have any influence on the adhesive, it was attached very very strong to the plexi  :spaceace:
