another setback today

i started to gut the "speech module" to integrate in the cab..
No problems so far..

After i took it apart, i accidently pressed the record button, which erased my recorded sample

anyway , that was not the worst, after soldering the extention wires, the unit died completely on me

I tried everything, but no go, i could record a sample, but the volume of the playback was unhearable, so i think with soldering i fried something..
anyway, new unit ordered..

good , after that i cutted the monitor part where the LED's need to go.
the two units cover each a word "money"

under the hole i just glued a bigger part of wood, and that was exactly deep enough to fit the heights of the LED's.

I verified the height with the "monitor area"

for the next speech unit i decided to integrate it completely on the bottom of the cab, with a hole in the bottom for the speaker.
re-recording and changing batteries can be done from the other side of the unit so that is also nice, since that part is accesible through the backdoor..
and because of my demolition, i got a spare set of batteries

so you see , every bad thing has its good thing
