Now that the woodwork is almost finished, its time for some experimenting with the electronics.
First i had some brainstorming sessions on creative improvisation..

I went to the local "Action" which is a discount store.
There they sell also some "chinese rubbish" which i can butcher and salvage parts from.

The shopping basket contained:
a "Minerstyle headlight"
a "talking photoframe"
two "bicycle "headlights"
All with LED's and with different patterns of lighting with the press of the button..
and the best part... € 6,- total Including the batteries

Later i went to my local electronics store for some "Arcade buttons" but then miniature style..
This is the best i could find..

The box of the "Talking Photoframe" states 6 seconds of recording time.
which is enough for the sample i want to use..

The "Miner lamp" contains of 7 LED's and thats more than enough to luminate the Marquee i think.

Also bought some pencils with transparent holders..

Before slaughter..

And there i have one transparent tube..
The idea is to put the led's in there so i have a repro of a fluorecent tube..

The doctor is ready to operate..

The extraction is complete..

This is where i came for, 7 led's on a pcb with regulator

Solderd them in a row, and inserted them in the tube.

After testrunning it, i discovered that the led's only "shine" forward, so my idea to replicate a tube was not working as expected.

Back to the drawingboard, and i decided to just drill 7 holes in the piece of plexi that represents the marquee..

The funny thing is that its possible to switch between the strongness of the lighting..
mode 1; 3 led's

mode 2; 5 led's

mode 3; 7 led's

back of the marquee..(one common wire, and 3 seperate wires (Indicated by the red shrinktube)

This is finished for now,
The idea is to use one of the 3 buttons on the control panel for the different lighting patterns in the marquee.
the other two buttons will get other functions..

Later more on that..
Stay tuned!
