Solderings: ALWAYS renew them completely, i.e. suck away all the old solder and then make a brand new and shiny one

working on that one now ;).
im doing it with a copper wire but it not going that wel.
did also had a look at gama, praxis for desolder tools but they didnt had any :(
i saw that there is some sort of pen for it on internet,so i need 2 get me one i think.

It would be safest to get the same values as now on your PCB, at least that can never hurt.

that wat i was thinking too.
i get the 3 missing parts monday,so i bring also the same voltage caps that are on mine, just to be save.
so that gives me some time to renew a lot of solder joints, and broken ones ;D

and i just checkt the service manual of the MTC900
all caps are the same as andys exept one,but that dont mater cos hantarex says 16v at one,and andy says 25v
and as level42 just explaint  that doesnt mater ;D
so now im almost sure that the list is oke

Quote
I need to visit my mothers attic soon (where my arcadeshizzle is atm) and i have a spare chassis there

I can compare the values on that pcb and let you know the outcome.

thats nice too offer etienne but i think im just gona put the same one there again, just for me feelings, but im 99%  sure the list is oke ;)

After some misfortune lately.
Its time to make some progres again on me cab.
After i cleand the monitor and chassi, and put new caps in
And made a lot of new solderpoints,i stil got 1 problem on 1 conector >:(
So i need to remove the monitor again,so i can see wat is going on there.
But i already saw that the picture was much better.
Me pcb is getting more problems.
So time for a new one.
Think it wil arrive in 2 weeks or so,didnt had any cash on paypal so its going from bank to paypal first :(
Sinds i already sanded the front of the cab, time to go too the paintshop, they put a meter on the control panel
but they coudnt read it ???
ive been to a lot of shops but no one was able to scan it.
strange
Did you scan your cab on eurocade etienne.
i found 1 shop he said he can make the color without scanning it,but im nut sure it wil be close to the original color then

Did you scan your cab on eurocade etienne ?

I wanted, but i don't know if ully did bring his scanner or not,

so no i did not..  :-\

I guess its the high gloss finish that is causing the scan problems...

Finish your cab off with "Glitsa" after painting, that is hard as rock , and high gloss like the original

oke, then i just go back to the shop, and let them make the color without scanning and see how close it is to the original.
i didnt sand the control panel,so i got a nice piece to compare the color.

Time to spray some components

i always use spray putty instead of primer

now i let it dry for 2 days
only thing i need to do now is putting the old wires from me old coindoor,to the new one
cos there was only 1 light in me new coindoor.
if that is done i think i get stuck to go any further :(
i need to paint the cab, been to a shop and again no color match :'(
so we desided to sand the control panel a bit so the glos was gone.
but i just lookt at the paint but i dont think it any close to the original
also i was looking for some replacement t molding, but cant find any :'(
one good thing do,after a lot of waiting me money was finaly on paypal
so me new pcb is underway now ;)
and wen i got it i first gona play for some days ;D
also me crazy kong key ring is underway
so basicly im stuck at paint and t molding at the moment
just 1 thing cos i know you guys know more about joysticks than i
i had a joystick with Microswitch but i dont like the clicks you hear,so i wana go for a leafswitch joystick
now i read somewere on the form that suzo are good sticks, but i just look at there site but they dont got leaveswitch sticks :(
if its the good site that i look
http://na.suzohapp.com/joysticks/joysticks_amusement.htm
does someone know of a good leaveswitch joystick 4 way
i see a lot of joysticks and dont wana order 1 that later on is useles

actually you want an 8 way, that does play more easy when you put the stick for example to up-right when walking towards a ladder, when mario is at the point he can go up, he will do when you do that.

so you dont need to time it exactly to put the stick to up to climb up a ladder  ;)

anyway, best would be to look for a stick that uses a small hole, i know that the suzo's use a pretty big circle to mount it and then your plexi will not fit...

Original stick:

CP modified for a Suzo stick:

and here a suzo stick:

Oh, and before i forget, i got a suzo stick here that looks like the original (pin style) but its black, and not aluminium color, and also micro switch...
you can have it for free if you like ;)

Welcome to the club

yea think its gona be a pain to find somthing that looks like the original t molding.
think the only way is trying to restore the original t molding, sand it filler it and spray it,if that is possible
or maybe somthing like this
http://www.ostermann.eu/nl/startpagina-news/article/laserfaehige-kanten.html
i know that is no t molding but if the color is right it may be a option to

i dont know how my key ring wil look etienne,i orderd 1 from the guy on marktplaats,i think he is using the flyers to make them, not sure do

right 8 way joystick then ;D

anyway, best would be to look for a stick that uses a small hole, i know that the suzo's use a pretty big circle to mount it and then your plexi will not fit...

right so best is to go for a flat mounting plate then,i thought al joysticks had the same mounting plate
so i need to be careful then wat i wil order.
cos i dont wana make bigger holes and stuff in me control panel if it possible.

Quote
It looks like this :
thats a verry smal stick, thnx for offering etienne, but i think im gona go for a bigger one and with leafswitch.
maybe it is me old joystick but i didnt like the clicky sound.
also a lot of joysticks look to modern for the cab i think,so i think im going for a joystick with a ball on top.
somthing like this.
http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=JOYRBLSNEW
so im gona look around a bit now for a new joystick.
and go further with me coindoor wirering.
and tomorrow again on hunt for paint for the cab
