Ebay sellers get angry when you kill their 100% score?
« on: December 16, 2010, 01:36:45 PM »
Just bought an item on Ebay which was supposed to be a 9 condition (out of 10) from the description. For me that is a very good condition. The pic was OK, small, so could not tell much.
As it was pretty expensive, but an OK price for a 9 condition unit, I expected it to be a 9. But it was a 7.5 at most. Some serious scratches, little yellowing. I gave negative feedback for the description. The seller gets very aggressive now, as he went down from 100% to 98.9. Off course, I contacted him first, but no sorry's or whatsoever.

What do you guys think? I believe the Ebay feedback system stinks. You have to click through 5 confirmations to give negative feedback, the seller can ask for a feedback cancellation. Everyone has 99% or higher, and all feedback is like OOH's WOW's ane YIPPIE's. Is nobody critic in Ebay? I think I only want to do business with people who HAD critic reactions and handled critic well. For me 100% is more a "Do not trust" mark right now.

Ebay feedback system sux, and we won't be able to do anything to make it better.
I sold some 100% tested and working arcade pcbs last year, a really stupid malaysian idiot marked as non-working and made a long lasting procedure with paypal, my account was closed for 2 months and when he sent ot back to me, I put it in my jamma cabinet and it worked fine.It was resold for another buyer and I got a really nice feedback for the same pcb, so we can call this system as a comedy! :-\

i've been doing ebay for over 10 years now, i'm close to 1000 positive comments and never ever received a single negative one. there have been times when there were problems, both as a seller and as a buyer, but everything could be settled without leaving negative remarks! i'm more concerned with the steady increase in fees, but unfortunately there is no good alternative which gives you even close the money you're going to get on ebay!
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

A good webshop :)
I did much business with www.retrogames.co.uk. I bought stuff that would have cost me much less with hours of crawling Ebay and Marktplaats. True "Buy it now", a good bill with company details and fast delivery is also worth money!

when I buy online, on Amazon.com or Ebay.com, I never rate those sellers. Too much effort. I paid for my stuff, you send it to me, and everything's ok. I dont want to fill in some kind of afterwards customers review. Why should I? I dont see the point of it, and therefore I ignore all those emails send to you after a transaction.

I wish I could do that, but the hungarian auction site will close your account if you don't make a feedback after 2 months of the ending of the auction.

I think if I was the seller I'd be really pissed at you. You should have asked for a refund if you weren't happy.

He should have reacted normal when I mailed him before I gave feedback! A simple sorry was enough. It was a collector, so he should know that people expect him to describe stuff correctly.
And by the way, it is not my problem that eBay's feedback system is flawed by design.

Feedback is over rated! i personaly dont realy look at the feedback system on ebay. I buy alot of Marktplaats whitch even hasnt got a feedback system. if the want to screw you the do. no matter what the feedback says.
