[ About Gyruss ]
I grew with classical / liric music, 'cause my fa' and bro' used to listen that genre.
But I also was kinda' "sidetracked" by some contemporary rock/fusion/electronic music, like almost all the young boys of my age used to listen at that time

!
Pink Floyd, Toto, Dire Straits, Alan Parsons, ( and Jarre

) ...
So, one day in 1982 I came back home with a not-classical vynil and my brother was surprised (!!!), but after few minutes he immediately got the "essence"...
http://plum.cream.org/sky/sky2.htmWell, I still own that disc (somewhere...), and I also have it in CD version...
WHY do I tell you that ?

... please listen to the last track of the disc

...
Ok, HERE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG7dnI0bW90... and you now know where Gyruss' sountrack came from !
SKY !!!
( btw: I also have 2 CD of guitar works played by the awesome Sky's guitarJohn Williams... that is NOT the mostly famous homonymous musician, the BEST Movie soundtracks' composer

)
I think Konami's musicians used to listen that track, and they really did a nice job throwing it into their BEST shooting arcade game !
I have to remind you 2 other things:
1> Gyruss have an OUTSTANDING electronic for the audio only :
a Zoran Z80 CPU, an Intel I8039, 5 General Instruments AY8910 PSG sound chips , and a DAC !!!
2> there's a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Konami Game Music Vol.1 - 28XA-85), released by Alfa Records on 25/06/1986...
WELL...
I AM STILL LOOKING FOR IT AND I WANT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
