Hi from Denmark!
« on: September 14, 2010, 01:59:41 AM »
Hi, Thomas from Denmark here!

I got here thanks to Muerto, and so far I've been reading in here for around 6 hours! Great forum!

I don't have any dedicated cabs (yet) and I'm still pretty new to the arcade world. Been collection consoles for many years, and I first got the arcade fever half a year ago. I'm only 25, so I was not around when it peaked, and I grew up in a small town, and there wasn't that many arcades back then. But I do remember the danish Compugame machines with Neo Geo games, Bubble Bobble, Terminator, racing games and pinballs. And I grew up with the NES. I remember renting it at the local gas station in the weekends, because we couldn't afford one (or maybe we just couldn't buy it in my shitty little town at the beginning)

But enough rambling! I got two Compugame cabs a couple of months ago, both with 4 Slot Neo Geo, and so far I got 8 games. You have to start somewhere, right?  :D

If you read all this nonsense to the end, I salute you!  ;D

I need a Berzerk! Hook me up :)

Hi Thomas,
welcome. I'm one of these new guys here, too and enjoy the board and the tons of arcade adventures  ;)
You collect game consoles, too? The rack that you use seems not so good for playing with them. Don't they fall down if you pull on the controller? I'm still looking for a good solution of putting my consoles ready to play somewhere near the TV, but that seems very difficult.
Anyway, have fun here  ;D

Hey Donkey!
Stay away from this forum: it will only make you want to buy dedicated cabs (and I'm not talking about just ONE).
You'll wake up at night to read the detailed restoration posts.
You'll lose your job because you'll constantly check the "show unread posts since last visit".
You'll start taking pictures of old rusty things, broken pieces of plastic or damaged wood boards.
I warned you!  ;) ;) ;)
welcome!

It´s with tears in my eyes that I write in this old topic, but the Danish member and my very good arcade friend "Donkey" is not among us any more.  :'(
He died earlier this week, and I don't know the spesifics..
R.I.P Thomas, your person and your good mood will be missed.
