Missile Command
« on: July 03, 2010, 12:09:45 PM »
Well, brought it into the shed yesterday, and powered it up...
Tested 3 MC PCB, and this is the best result any of them could deliver:

Any idea what could be wrong (PCB was bought as working from World Of Lies...)

do you at least get this "promising" result with the pcb from world of lies? perhaps it's the other board inside the cabinet that's not working properly ...
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

The test switch should be on the left just inside the coin door, near the volume adjust. I think US cabinets have a different one, but its close by, on the back of the coin door maybe?

Or someone could have taken it out, which happened to me once :)

I wouldn't worry about that, when the PCB doesn't work chances are the test mode doesn't work either  ;)

Have you reseated all the socketed chips? Cleaned the edge connector and checked it for burnt pins (very common on Atari games that use the ARII Audio/Regulator Boards)?.

If you have a test rig/super gun/etc. I suggest making a basic Jamma Adapter (+5V & Video) to rule out power brick and ARII as the delinquents...
