OK let's get that stuff out of my house ! ;)

Ully will pick his stuff up next week
Erik well, we will meet soon anyway ;)
Bruno, guess yours can be stored with the G-loc stuff for pick-up ?
That leaves AtariMania....guess I'll have to ship your share ?

Please PM me your address. Tell me if you want it sent insured (MAY be wise, considering the value and seeing French strikes lately ;)). Of course I will use the original packaging (and some extra).

I can't believe it.

I really can NOT believe it !!!!

OK, finally I had found a proper (smaller) box AND some time to send the artwork to Atarimania in France.

So. here's the package:

But, looking outside it was like this:

Not scared for a small distance like that, but I figured let's bring it to the local magazine store that also has a TNT post "office' in a fun way (because my son wanted to get out in the snow of course.
It's only 5 minutes or so by foot.

So, I wrapped it in some plastic to protect it from the snow and....here we go !

We safely and quickly arrived at the "office" (in Holland we do not have REAL post-offices anymore, believe it or not, only all kind of "post points" in supermarkets, magazine/cigarette shops etc.). After waiting for at least 10 minutes in the queue (because there is only 1 person working there), I hand over the package and say I would like to send this please.

She looks like I just gave her a pile of shit and seems to be completely puzzled. Then she mentions that this is out of spec-sized !!!

"Beg your pardon ?"

A LARGER box was shipped to me through USPS AND TNT in Holland to get this stuff in the first place so WTF you mean it is over sized ???

She's thumbing through all kinds of papers, looking in drawers, looking everywhere but cannot find the info if this is suitable to be shipped by them.
She says she had tried before but that she got back the package. I say that I want it to arrive in France and nowhere else. (I start getting pretty pissed off at this point).
For the 2nd time I explain that an even LONGER box was shipped to me BY TNT from Schiphol to my home so WHY would it not fit in a TNT van now ??? (People in the queue behind me start laughing)
I get back the usual "government speech".
She then says, OK I will try to ship it.
I say, I do not want you to TRY, I want it to ARRIVE AT THE DESTINATION THAT I PAY FOR !

Next I mention that in the past we had decend post-offices that knew about their work.
She mentions she used to work there. (EVEN WORSE !).

I've had it. I take back the package and "thank" her for help and say I will go to the business desk that is also close to my home. Regretfully this is only open on working days.

So, that meant my son had to carry the package back home on the sledge.

So I'm so sorry Atarimania, some more delay but I think I did my best !

I get home, look up the TNT site and find within 1 minute that it can easily be shipped (up to 150 cm. length) with International Packet plus.

I can NOT believe it ! What a MORON !

Typical "TNT Biatch"  ;)

I know the feeling, jou just want to send something, and like you say to arrive in the destination that you pay for

i had to send a printer for garanty once, and the dude says it was too heavy (a old A3 laserprinter) so i go to the other queue, package still in the front, other dude just asked me to put the box in the trolly and sends the package  ???

very strange way of handling if you ask me

the package arrived, and i got it repaired back, also returned by TNT  :D

Better like you say go to the business desk

Today is a glorious day !

AtariMania's stuff is FINALLY on it's way !!!!!

I happened to have to work at a mall today and I knew they had a TNT post "office" there.
This time someone who first measured the length, then looked through her info and said: ok, because of the lenght it has to be shipped [insert catchy marketing-guy-thought-up name here]. I said: sure.

She said but it will be over 13 Euro. I said, well that's cheaper than bringing it :)
She laughed and said it was also insured this way. I said that that was very welcome indeed.

So...Paris area, can't really take that long Franck....I'll PM you the tracking nr. but she said it could only be tracked "until the Dutch border".....but anyway....

Sorry for all the delay, I know it is surely worth the waiting !!!
