After Burner II upright cabinet
« on: May 06, 2010, 11:35:55 AM »
I will pick up some pcbs tomorrow in Hungary, about 200 km-s from Budapest and the guy told me, he  has an After Burner II upright cabinet(fully working) in nice condition for sale.
Anybody interested?
What could be the acceptable price for this cabinet?
He also has another sit down cabinet with a broken monitor, but I forgot the name he told me ;D
I will take pics if anybody interested. ;)

erik got his afterburner ii for 250 euros if i remember correctly. for a working AB in nice condition this really is a good price. right now i'm after an after burner i which is offered in germany. seller wants €180, i'm trying to talk him down a little bit :) to be honest, i'd rather have the sitdown AB cabinet, but those are difficult to find (and to transport), so i guess i'll have to settle with the upright for now. but wait a minute, what's that sitdown cabinet your buddy has on offer? if it's after burner, i'm game, if it's sinistar, i'm game too - so bring on those news  8)
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

The price for a working AB II *upright* is usually between 200€ / 300€ ... less if you have some luck  ;)
The common problem on this cabinet is ... the side arts... almost partially damaged on all AB2 upright I've seen... luckily not too bad on mine

...but it's worst most of the time...and sadly NO side arts repro available yet   :-\ Check also is the *shaking motor* is still working.

So, I took a  visit at the lair of the "After Burner" guy, he's warehouse located in the middle of an abandoned factory complex, looks like Pripyat in Chernobyl. ;D(I've been there)

Offtopic mode on ;D Pripyat Amusment Park, never opened

Offtopic mode off ;DThis the guy's "warehouse" ;)

Here is the ABII

A lot of starnge badges covering the cabinet:

He also has a funny generic cocktail, with a brand new Hitachi monitor(still not inside the cab):

He has 2 Williams Reno EM pinballs from 1957:

Original Cadillacs & Dino's pcb on a Sword of Fury pinball:

I hope you will laugh on this, I used the biggest Ford Transit to buy a Moguchan pcb, after a transport for the Quasar with a Renault Clio. ;D

You can guess by now, that I didn't fall in love with Ater Burner, so I left it there. >:(

Now it's Ully's time, the misterious sit down cab was Sega Line Of Fire ;D ;D ;D

It was located in a garage, covered by a lot "useful" things ;D

To summarize the cabinets:

The AB2 was in fully working condition, shaking motor, controlls, lights, throttle lever were fine.
The sidearts are in good condition of it's age.
Coin door was drilled and a there are also those starnge badges :D
Price 140EUR

The mini cocktail:
New hitachi monitor, jamma harness, works.
Price 35 EUR

Line Of Fire:

Monitor broken(he can fix it), otherwise it's complete and working, sidearts are in almost new condition.
Price 105 Eur(with monitor fix, about + 20)

So, it was a great adventure to visit this guy and I purchased a real rare pcb. ;D
