if he didn't have stuff which i'm interested in / i have already bought i would have already given up!

well, IMHO interesting stuff or not, in this way you will never have this interesting stuff, so i am already conviced not to get involved with this person.

imagine the only possible way wich will be a pickup of things, and you drive all the way , and there is nobody there !

so thats also not really an option

i admire your dedication ully !
(and i feel bad for the others that have unfinished business with this man)

Hallo Stefan,

Erik

I think the dates are right, at the 14th Stefan wrote that he will send the tracking number to Erik. Because he didn't send the tracking number Erik wrote an email to Stefan on the 27th asking for the tracking number. And the 29th Erik wrote another email to Stefan because he still didn't answer.

Right?

I think I'm still pretty lucky when I see all those troubles with sellers, I've only lost money once. I bought a few anime dvd's on ebay from a seller located in the US. It were 6 dvd's, only 5 arrived. I contacted the seller that there was one missing: "no problem, I'll ship it right away"...NOT! Tried to get my money back with paypal but no go, tried a complaint with ebay but no go either. :'(
One other time I bought a few comic books (also from a US ebay seller) but they never arrived, that time I got a full refund from paypal. :)

Please note I don't have anything against US sellers, it's just these two times I had troubles they were from the US. I have bought lots of stuff from there before and after those incidents without any problem :)

I just remember, there was another incident, not the sellers fault that time. I bought a few active car audio crossovers (Audiocontrol) from someone (also located in the US ). About two weeks later I get a letter from customs that there is a package for which they need identification for it's contents. Ok, I fill in the letter and send it back. About a good week later I still didn't receive any package, so I called the customs office (phone number from the letter I got) but they didn't know of the package number...WTF? After several redirects and other calls (total about 15~20 calls) on other days I just gave up.....the package was clearly lost. I paid over $400 for these devices :'(
NOW, exactly ONE YEAR later (it was februari, I still remember that) I get an email from the seller that his package that he sent a year ago showed up at his doorstep! F*cking A-holes at the customs office ! The seller kindly offered to send again or a refund. I didn't want to go trough all the troubles again so I took the refund.

I've lost over 500E over the years from eBay sellers :-( Most I believe decided to not ship the item and just keep the money!

I think as all Europeans buyers with all had this problems buying from Us or Australia or all around the world,

Import is a delicate shipping

It is not like a national shipping, it involve customs, different shippers from country to coutry, Vat fee's

The illusion to pay less from a seller on the other face of the planet has vanished since Ebay have made us dream so,

But the reason why they are now using new paypal refund tools (the latests approved last week) is because everybody is slowly understanding this point

So Ebay is losing buyers and sales

Mav

One hint: if you pay more than $100, to avoid any problem: create a Ups account

It will cost something but you'll have at home what you paid for, with no hassles and no money lost

It's not that I lost a lot of money, only 1 dvd (I guess around $10-15) and shipping costs for those crossovers.

I'm also not buying from the other side of the world because it's cheaper, some items are just impossible to find in Europe which are common things in the USA or Japan or whatever country.

I buy lots of things from the US and I have to say almost without a problem. Only once there was a problem and in that case I just think I was screwed by the seller. Generally US stuff comes over in about 6 working days here through USPS shipping. They are cheap and reliable PLUS I don't have to drive 30km to pick up a package if I'm not home.

I've never had any customs problems. Only one time did I have to pay import duties because the seller (Arcadeshop) put a bill on the outside AND declared full value.

All the other times, no trouble at all.
Belgian customs sucks, I'm sorry I have to say that Petieken, but it's true.

Indeed, the US is _the_ source for classic arcade parts and the euro-dollar rate is easing out the shipping costs a _lot_.

Yeah Belgian customs really suck big time!

Weird thing is, when I receive a package from the US, there's a 90% chance I have to pay "inspection fee" which is €10. This really pisses me off! You have to pay an inspection fee and they didn't even open the package or take out the documents, everything is still closed like it left the seller. Of course I had to pay import taxes several times too.

By now, I have easily received about 60-70 packages from Japan, and with maybe 20% of the packages I had to pay that phony "inspection fee" and never had to actually pay import taxes. I once got a box from akishop full of Sanwa & Seimitsu parts, worth about €200. I had to pay "inspection fee" (€10) and the box was actually opened, because the box was closed again with a "DOUANE" sticker, but I didn't have to pay import tax. This happened more than once with packages from Japan. With packages from the US they almost make you pay import tax for the bubble wrapping sometimes.... ::)

Same!

In short : a lottery !   :ghost:

But now, I'm just resigned... and I'm even 'happy' the customs fee are 'only' 10€
I'm just trying to raise down the declared value by the seller... but when it's not possible... I cross the fingers.... a lottery as I said  :-\

Yes, lottery is the best word to describe the Belgian customs! A lottery where you don't want to be a winner

When it is shipped as GIFT, the customs cannot charge you anything. It is a GIFT.

Also this inspection fee is crazy !
It's actually amazing no-one here ever thought about it because this is TAX-EM-TO-DEATH country !

You pay income taxes over your salary and VAT and etc. etc. etc. right ?
That's what customs get paid from.  Not the way it works here, and we are neighboring countries WITHIN the EC which should mean the same customs laws....Legally spoken ALL countries within the EC live in the same "country" as it comes to importing stuff from outside the EC.
