Got RTOJ but monitor has issue's

im very newbie to the arcade thing recently got several arcades that all need work for a really good price
Being a huge starwars fan i was really excited to get the rotj cab i got up and running game boots of perfectly
minus no sound and the screen takes alittle bit to loud up but it seems if Half the colors load up no greens blues on broken lines of black and brown at times
u can see the game running in the background but its very scattered image does this make sense?
any help would be great again i am a major newb

Hi Drydien,

Well, regarding the picture it can be a lot of things and it would require a ton of explication only for learning you the basic checks 
Maybe a short video of the problem would help us better...

if it´s a rom error on the board, Irongiant from the Jamma+ forum is a wiz! - he fixed mine and it´s working 100% now!

but im trying to learn! fast i got a bunch of non op arcades that i need to get running lolool ( defender,rotj,poleposition,aquajack,sf2) ahha

anyways i got 3 video's booting up from cold and a video about 5mins later and another video about 5 more mins after that

colors slowly start to fade in but never fully displays all the colors Any help would be GREAT

Well, first I'll say that I'm no monitor expert (I only repair the game boards) - it's tempting to say that you have a combination of two faulty items, namely the monitor (taking ages to warm up) and the game board itself.

Of course, it may just be the game board that has a fault in the video display circuitry, ie a faulty chip that needs to warm up before things start working. Tricky to say for sure without looking at it on a test rig.

The sound issue is probably the game board (may be a bad LM324 op amp) but may also be down to, for example, the speaker in the cab, voltages or wiring. Maybe even a dodgy connection to the edge connector.

Can you check the voltages to the game board and verify that they are within the correct tolerances?
