Do any Theater 6's still function publicly anymore?
« on: February 12, 2025, 03:03:44 PM »
So the one at Nashua NH is non-functional. Do any others still exist? And where can I find them?

There are no playable Galaxian 3 cabinets on display in Japan.
( There is a cabinet at "Fukaya Robot" is usually turned off and can only be played on certain days as part of an event. )

It is known that there is one in a private home in Japan, but it is not open to the public.
( It has been featured on TV and in online articles, but since it is an ordinary private home, no special measures have been taken. )

I do not know what is happening to the cabinet that was taken to the AgraGames CoinopMuseum, owned by the manager here, as it has not been posted on the museum's social media.
( Even if it is on display, it is generally only open to the public on weekdays, so it is not clear whether it can actually be played. )

I emailed them. The cabinet has yet to be assembled and is not ready for play.

I've just been informed that the machine in Nashua New Hampshire has been repaired. I will be back with more info.

It has unfortunately already failed again. The left LaserDisc player needs service again. Thankfully I got to play before the problems started, and got to play a while longer before the employees shut it down to prevent damage. Here's hoping it lasts longer than a day next time they repair it.

I'm pretty sure the Japan Arcade Museum that operates their Galaxian Theater use computers (or Raspberry?) to simulate the LD players (If I understood correctly the translation of the Japanese messages on Twitter/X).
It is indeed the Laser Disc players that are the most fragile part of the equipment.  :-\

The LaserDisc player has been fixed. Attack of the Zolgear is now running properly again.

That is cool. :spaceace:  Make a maximum of pictures & videos while this beast is running, but most important: play it & enjoy :) :spaceace:
