Holiday season and Paypal 45 days limit for claims

It seems a returning issue: I have holidays, and I miss some deadlines on the 45 day limit for filing paypal claims, and it always combines with items getting lost (holiday postman perhaps?)....
Throughout the year, all is received well, during cucumber time, stuff gets lost and no options to claim.

What do you guys think?
Should Paypal add 1 month for the claim period if it ends in july/august?
Any similar experiences?
