Stupid question

does anyone here knows or can advice about what the minimum temperature is to store your arcadecabinet?
What I am trying to say is: winter is coming up, and one of my cabs is placed in a shed in which I think it can get pretty cold.

President that's not a stupid question at all cause I was meaning to ask the exact same thing to the professionals here.
I also have a poor cab in an unheated shed.
Some friends told me that as long as it's on a pallet (not in direct contact with the floor) and the room is not humid it's OK.
Don't think about powering it until it's temperature is back to "normal" though.

As long as you don't power up the cabinet under, say about 10 degrees c, you should be fine.
It's the rapid changes in temperature that do damage due to condensation, especially to the tube.

If you really want to be safe, stick a humidity absorber inside the cab and put a cover on it but I've had cabs survive several winters in a garage without any of those.

If you live in Alaska, then the above doesn't apply. Bring them in

Dampness/Humidity is your enemy!  This usually cannot be avoided in any outside storage. (unless you live in a desert environment)

Like already mentioned in the thread, if it's cold, but kept in a dry and well sealed shed/building it should be ok.  Try to avoid un-climate controlled storage if at all possible.

I remember now, liquidx, it was you who gave me these info in the first place!
I was afraid for my Bentley Bear during the winter even if he has a thick fur.

I'm not sure about the exact temperature, but I have an oil filled radiator in my game room, up all the time and set to a minimum of ... I would say 15°C. I'm sure It can be lower than that for games, but in that case, it would be too cold... for me
