'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Original Rygar PCB
« on: November 24, 2010, 05:00:42 PM »
After getting a dodgy board and failing to fix it myself and sending it off and still failing to get it working. I'm back in the market for an original Rygar PCB.

If anybody on here has one for sale or knows someone how has one could you let me know. Would be grateful for anyone to keep an eye out, you lot definitely seem quite capable of finding some gems!

All the rest / Re: Why people from UK does not ship abroad?
« on: November 21, 2010, 12:03:23 PM »
I never used to ship outside the UK until recently.

I do it now because I know what is involved. Anything under 2kg can easily be handled by "Royal Mail", the standard choice offered by local post offices. Anything over 2kg and it gets very expensive, in which case you then have to use a courier (TransGlobalExpress, Parcel2Go, EZDelivery etc.) and that means you have to be around, at home, ALL DAY (any time between 7am - 7pm) within the week. Obviously most people work and this is not an option.

If the buyer is prepared to play the inflated price offered by Royal Mail (and believe me it's bloody expensive), there is not really a reason why you would no ship outside the UK, it's just most people don't realise how easy it actually so don't bother.

There is also the hassle associated with your contents getting potentially broken on the long journey and the logistics of then trying to sort it out over such a long distance.

Awesome thread!

I was given one of those lightsabers as a leaving present from my last job! Has all the sound effects, the one where it starts up is the best but works on motion too so when you whirl it around it makes some great noises.

I met the bloke who played Darth Maul at a convention once, got his autograph and he wrote a great little message. "Join me on the dark side".....

Technical Area / Re: How do you remove decals?
« on: November 05, 2010, 04:02:48 PM »
I've just removed a load of stickers from a batch of laptops I'm selling off. I used isopropyl alcohol and it got rid of the glue / residue a treat!

The only thing you may have to be careful with, is that I was doing this directly on plastic with no print / artwork underneath. No hint of a sticker having ever been there now though.

They definitely do make you change your habits, but worth every moment! My son plays Double Dragon with me and he's pretty damn good at Rolling Thunder too!
