I didn't know that there was a sitdown version of Roadblasters. This looks funky ...

I had in the past several opportunities to buy that cockpit version, but I prefer the upright version 'coz it's the version I used to play in the past  8)

This cockpit has a particularity : a kind of lens in front of the screen, in order to show the player a greater image size.

the lens is a "fresnel lens" it enlarges the image giving more consistance to the little screen in such a huge cockpit

Played this one at Luc's place and the fresnel lens wasn't as bad looking as i feared. Star blade uses one too IIRC.
World of arcade had an empty one for sale some time ago...

It's not exactly the same system. On this Road Blaster, there is a lens between the monitor and the player.
On Starblade, the picture on the monitor is reflected onto a curved 'screen', which gives a far better result  ;) No lens!

The base looks the same, but the top + roof is totally different... maybe it's a normal cockpit with a roof broken, and modified like this?
