Two person of the forum are interested by the cab, first place for anunaki (depend of futur picture).
I take the picture of the bug next week-end because the cab is not in my house.
Well for now I close reservations.

;D
Go for it Patrick, because if you don't, then I will. :D

Be aware that Space Zap PCB has a 40 pin data custom chip. If this chip is dead, you'll have to steal it from another board.
Same custom chip is also used in Wizard of Wor and Gorf, if this helps.
In my cab, Andreas added a heat sink right on the top of my chip to prevent it from overheating and make it last longer… he's a genius!

If the board isn't an easy fix, you could always put a tiny MAME setup with only Space Zap inside I guess.
I think that is what I would do.

Problem here ist that the bw monitor wants composite video....not sure how easy this can be done with a pc.
We have considered using a RaspberryPI with pimame. The little dude has hdmi and composite :)

I would have tried it with RaspberryPI as well :) Finally some good use for it besides netbooting my Naomi a few months ago.
Didn't know about the Space Zap bw composite monitor btw. Thanks for mentioning.
-
isnt every black and white monitor composite ?
-
no need to mame it. Jochen will fix it. He has some experience in that hardware.

Yes, indeed, he has great skills....but he needs the *#$&§ custom chip ;)
-
it seems that somebody already built those customs in VHDL... in the astrocade machine are all 3 customs (address, data and io) used in gorf / wizard of wor / space zap / robby roto
http://www.ballyalley.com/emulation/hardware_emulation/hardware_emulation.html
so, if there are no working customs anymore (most of the time the data-chip fails), there could be new version in a fpga ;) but since then we should find the original chips ;)

Finally I brought the cab at home to take pictures and it turns out that in fact there was just a problem of loose contact !
The kids could play with a few minutes but when I lift the screen game froze and no longer wanted to leave. Anyway, this is a minor problem, and then children want me to fix it in order to play with (they liked the simplicity of the game) .
So sorry but for now I keep the cab.
A picture of the screen with the actual bug :
