As the title says, what is there ? Hopeful of getting the approval for a few months work in Schiedam tomorrow, so with the job being 40 hrs initially I will have some time to kill at the weekends.

First of all you are more then welcome to visit my place which is, as you know very close to Rotterdam :)
Maybe you should ask ChriChris for an objective view since he just spent a weekend in Rotterdam.

Take a water taxi
Walk a nice round over the Erasmus, Hef and Willemsbridges
Check if there is something nice in the Kunsthal
Have a Pic-nic in the grass in the middle of the Kleinpolderplein (little hard to get there!)
Take a walk through the pedestrian part of the Maastunnel
See if there is a nice crane ship in the port (Hermod!), to get there go by train to Hoek van Holland and take the ferry to Maassluis.

Usually you can get pretty close to this giant MF. Make a nice photo standing next to the crane hook if it is on the harbour side.
This image gives no idea how big it is. Maybe this one does

Good suggestions, those are for the advanced tourist ;)

I was there last weekend and it was very nice.
We were with the little one (almost 4 years old) so we did stuff that he could enjoy too.
Mainly a visit to the Zoo (which had a really cool aquarium part), lots of walking in the city, a torrent of bitterballen (a personnal favourite) and a trip in the spido (boat that shows you around).
This part of the aquarium gave me impossible and super expensive ideas for an ideal gameroom:

The "spido" boat tour, nice views, and most importantly: you can finally relax and enjoy a few beers:

It also gives you a view on the containers paradise, there's apparently room for 1000 units there.
How many are filled with cabs?
Thomas is this view some kind of wet dream for you?

And also I almost met André at the "Get Back café" where they have this groovy Q*bert wall:

We haven't seen much so we'll definitely have to come back, at least for a certain Star Wars cockpit that's sitting in a gameroom a few kilometers from Rotterdam. ;)
-
LOL.....such a shame we missed each other but still quite a number of hours "in between" ;)
-
And did you get to see the "Q-Bert" houses ? They look really cool, just down by Rotterdam Blaak station IIRC.

Yep, you can visit one of them, although I never did...
-
Yes we saw them.
It looks super cool outside but the inside is kinda disappointing.
It's 3€ to visit and it lasts about 10minutes.
The walls are really at 45° inside and all the furnitures that are against the walls are custom made.

The new 42 will fit ;)
