Title: My Arcade & Project in Spain
Post by: Bicton on November 02, 2013, 02:07:22 PM
Hello

Glad to find this fórum, great place to be and find lots of friends all arcade lovers :D

I live in Alicante Area in Spain, time ago I started the collection and you all know this can´t stop   only if you run out of money  :D

The idea is being a  Collector, protect and restore the old machines from "Mame cabs" , host meetings and tournaments, "being a cool spot in the "Spanish Arcade Scene" started with the Tournament Classic 80s and next one will be the Classics 90s by the 1 of December.

Here is a bit of history about the things we are doing:

Thank you every one for the warm welcome! I will love to have some of you around, I´m close to Benidorm, Alicante, Torrevieja Turistic places... maybe for the next Tournament?  ;D

The signs are done by a friend of mine here in Spain, he sells the  Arcade Signs in my web, you can find more info here:  www.arcadevintageshop.com (http://www.arcadevintageshop.com)

Can be any shape & colour you chose, I´m thinking to do next the Berzerk, Flynn´s,  Pacman...If any body have interest I will say to him to do a 10% discount for any member of this great forum  :D

Personally my experience is I was looking for this after long time for my game room, only find Hong Kong ebay stuff... but with neon or very bad led ones so bright... I was a bit worried for transport etc... so I know him was doing similar with elwire for bars, pubs etc...I told him to try and we make some designs, the quality is good, warranty and very fast delivery 1 week...

Some of them in my place :D

A TRON sign combined with a Recognizer would be great, I would surely buy some. ;)

Nice, it would be a deram having a place like that here in Italy ...

Out of curiosity, is the offroad cabinet original or a modified super sprint cab? It looks very different from the "common" cab

Hello baritonomarchetto, you right here in Spain was Segasa / Sonic the company that licensed & distributed the game, they decided to do it in the same cabinet that already used for the Super Sprint, but with larger hantarex 25" monitor plus new rewiring work, and dedicated arts.

Ah, interesting! Never seen that version before, it's really a nice catch! :spaceace:

Super Sprint was also distributed in Europe with both 20" or 25" monitors, if i remember correctly  :pac:

Some update from the last weeks:

Program on TV Channel 4 with 2 of my machines being delivered from the UK.

some great machines also arrived during December and January...

Months ago I saw the great arcade adventure of the Duke of Lancaster, I fall in love with the history thanks to all the members who made it possible, so I been searching for one machine from the Duke for a while, luckily on other forum was one for sale and after a bit of time I decide to have this beauty on my Game Room, Missile Storm done by Sidam y almost pristine condition and great restoration job from the last owner.

The house of the Dead also was a good find, my last gun game that I played on the arcades.

Glad to find this nice Out Run Spanish licensed by Cirsa/Unidesa fully working 5 min from my house in the last Arcade on the region, unfortunately he closed in 2012...

Some nice PCB as well, Rainbow Island, Combat School, Shinobi, Mercs...

I´m sorry a long time without no updates from my Project now its Arcade Vintage Cultural Association  :P.

Things go steady we started a cultural association 3 month ago and we are opening 2-3 days a month for members and public in general.

The main purpose of this its to make this place more social and get more people involved in this at the moment around 16 members.

The idea is they can use my machines, free drinks and participate in Tournaments, workshops and get discounts in some arcade/game shops etc... They collaborate with a monthly fee of 15€, and 10€ day no Associates, thats helps me to pay some part of the maintenance of the place.

With our Humbly we wish to host a weekend event with the people of all the international forums, we are located in Petrer 25 mins from Alicante Airport.

We have access to a guest house ruled by the town council just 5 mins by car from our place with capacity 40-50 people and other facilities.

All the ideas will be very welcome. Lets do it!

Here some actual pictures of Arcade Vintage Game Room :D

This Chinese guy can make whatever you want :)

His ebay store/name is AOOS.STORE

If you find others with the same items they are re-sellers or fakers....here's a direct link: http://www.ebay.com/usr/aoos.store?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

The guy guarantees that it arrives safely or will refund/replace it right away. He's good.

These are not neon like erik says, its EL Wire

You can get it pretty cheap, and if you are a bit creative you can make great signs

Hello Tyrem as some of you say these are elwire, a friend of mine makes me, he used to make commercial heineken type or Harley Davidson so I sent him several arcade designs for me to do, he can do almost any design you want, now we sell on the website of the association www.arcadevintageshop.com (http://www.arcadevintageshop.com) for 70 € each with shipping included in Spain, would have to inform me of shipments to the rest of Europe if anyone of you are interested.
