I did some research, and apparently there are multiple Game Sound Express discs that contain audio from Galaxian 3. Here are my findings:
1..... Starblade (GSE #6)
This includes music from Starblade and Galaxian 3, but it is the music from the GT-16/GT-28 version, not the more familiar GT-6.
Track List:
From what I get of the two scenarios, I imagine one is GT-16, and one is GT-28. They are completely different, but I wouldn't know, as I haven't seen either one or do I have the ability to read Japanese.
I imagine it says in the book, which is, again, is in Japanese.
The oddest thing is that, on pages 7-10, it has a full piece of sheet music for the Starblade theme:

2........Galaxian 3 Project Dragoon Theater6 (GSE #12)
This disc includes all the audio from the GT-6 version of the game, as well as an arrangement of the Starblade theme, likely done from the sheet music on the last disc.
Track List:
This happens to come with a scenario of the GT-6 version, in English and Japanese. In the English version, everything happens with Success, and the Cannon Seed explodes, but in the Japanese version, there are no successes, and, at the end, the Cannon Seed is fired.
3...............The Attack of Zolgear
(http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab168/zxthehedgehog/Front_zpsbd648a7e.jpg)
This is all the music from Attack of the Zolgear, and like the first two discs, the scenarios from them.
Track List:
This time, the scenarios were reversed, with the Japanese version ending well, and the English one ending badly.
And, that's it. By the way, you can download them here:

(By the way, the downloads were not uploaded by me, it just seemed like it would be good to have downloads for the music.)

Good research there!
I personally own the Galaxian 3 GT-6 and Attack of the Zolgear Soundtracks. Also have the entire Starblade/Galaxian3 Soundtrack on mp3 format. I do find the Galaxian 3 soundtrack on Starblade to be vastly different from the GT-6 version. GT-16 sounds more like you're going on a giant space quest than on GT-6 which feels more like, to me, an action packed adventure getting excited to blow up UIMS ships. I overall like all three Soundtracks with GT-6 being my no.1 choice. Zolgear no.2 and GT-16 no.3.
I do wonder, how come the music from the video laser disc showcasing the games are not on any soundtracks (character data music, ect.)?
-
Thanks for the reply!
About your question, I imagine the reason the music isn't on a CD is because it didn't appear in-game at any point, and only arcade owners would get a promo laserdisc. It is good music though :)
-
As far as I know, here's all the music CD that include at least one Galaxian3 track 8)

If you know other ones, please let me know! :P

Since Geosword X mentioned that the promo LaserDisc footage wasn't on a CD, I went and put the first song on the disc as an MP3 here:

Cool! 8) Thanks for the link. I heard there are Laser Discs for Starblade and Zolgear and they may have additional songs on there too.
-
Two more MP3 tracks here:

By the way, the promo disc comes with Zolgear and Dragoon demos, so I'll do the Zolgear demo music later. However, there is only 1 track on it that has any difference to any one on CD, so I'll only post one track for Zolgear.
I'll possibly also upload a full Dragoon scenario including sounds sometime too, if anyone wants it.

Thanks for the links! Promo LD Song 3 is the best! ;D 8)

Those tracks on gt-6 seem to have been slightly updated from the laserdisc.
-
Slightly updated? What do you mean?
-
Well I listened carefully to those tracks compared to laserdisc tracks and I found something quite intereting. At the beginning of Return to Base, the first drum is heard (note It wasn't heard in the laserdiscs) and at the end of the music the echoes are applied to those drums. And the Destroy possessed enemy track has some more drums added alon with the echo being applied to the first couple drum sounds. Attack of the zolgear tracks are the same, though in the theme Of dragoon J2 track, it's theme is extended just like the fight like a chap music (note that in the laserdisc once it starts to repeat, it fades away. Just compare the laserdisc scenario music to the OST version, it might make an interesting difference. It seems to be very convincing.
-
Not the zolgear though. Those tracks are likely the same to the laserdisc music. Plus I found 5 more galaxian. 3 tracks including two more scenarios for gh-28 / gh-16. Those tracks are taken from final lap 2. And the trcnico beat ost had a tracks galaxian 3 on it. It's a remix of the theme of galaxian 3 when you beat the game in gh-28 / gh-16. Those scenarios must have been before the attraction opened to public or before wonder eggs reopened or the attraction updated. Or maybe it was for the gh-16 idk. None of those games ever got an anime other than the tower of druaga. I noticed the release dates of starblade ost and final lap 2 ost. Final lap 2 ost was released in 1990. Starblade or was released in 1991. Anyway there people saying that starblade (1991) had heavy influences from star fox (1993). But I don't believe it
-
Actually, Star Fox was Nintendo's response to StarBlade and other 3D shooters of that point. They both followed the growing market for 3D space shooters, which both picked up on. Neither truly made it.
-
I didn't know that. Well It might be time to tell star fox fans that. Anyway I see about this Easter egg I galaga exhibition on namco museum vol 1... A bit reference to galaxian 3 cause there are two chairs and I think there are also stickers... I think I'm wrong. Hopefull namco can release the UGSF museum just like they're releasing pac man museum... WHICH IS AWESOME :pac:
-
I saw the G3 reference there, a neat easter egg!
About the edited tracks, I looked back over them, and I do see what you mean, the tracks were edited and extended. I did some similar echo effects on the G3 LD dump as well. (it gives it a very space-age feel and is just raised treble)
By the way, currently working on Zolgear dump. Sorry it took a while, but I have to reconvert it (a problem with VLC broke my old one off about halfway, meaning it didn't get to the final song, should be better now)
-
We'll that stinks... the breaking VLC player that broke the old dump off. Ugh players usually break. But hey at least the galaxian 3 project dragoon LD made it alive. But attack of the zolgear... I've been waiting to play this for so long. I'm still waiting patiently though while listening to GT-16 / GT-28 tracks 8) keep up the good work on the LD dumping. ;)
-
Done! Finally... :)

Thanks for the extra songs. Really cool to hear the songs without loading youtube to listen to them.
-
I just listened to the galaxian 3 wonder eggs music and the 3.013 (I forgot what it is) scenario and it seems they too were slightly updated (though I believe it is from the 3.000 scenario version with other music), And I just listened to final lap 2 tracks that are labeled galaxian 3 and they sound totally different from the one in starblade ost. In the 1st scenario the music at the beginning has that slightly added sound while on the 2nd, it remains the same. In techno beat, the galaxian 3 track is what seems to be a DJ remix of the mission successful theme (theme of galaxian 3). In final lap 2 ost, the galaxian 3 tracks are from the 1.0 version of the attraction while on the starblade ost, the galaxian 3 tracks are from the 3.0. If I remember correctly however, on the pre show of galaxian3, there was also music that was not included in the ost. It could have only been exclusive in WonderEggs

http://namcomuseum.tumblr.com/post/78803083309/the-soundtrack-to-namcos-groundbreaking-1991
There is a Starblade OST without Galaxian3 in it. In fact, It actually has 7 Tracks in it:
1. Prologue to STARBLADE
2. Scramble - Arrival on Red Eye
3. Descend to Red Eye - Destruction of Power Stone
4. Penetration Into Iceberg
5. Single Combat with Commander - Return to Mothership
6. Character Data File
7. Epilogue of STARBLADE
This soundtrack's cover is quite almost the same to the other starblade soundtrack (one with galaxian3 on it)
also on the extracted PS1 version of Ridge Racer Car Paint Sprites: http://namcomuseum.tumblr.com/image/48275023178
on the left is the starblade logo. also if you look very closely on the red car paint sprites, you can see the blue word "Galaxian3" along with yellow world "Pac Man" on it. Also if you look even more closly on the red and yellow car paint sprites, you can even see the Blue Word "Zolgear" and Black Word "UGSF" on it. "Zolgear" word is also next to the number 18. Also in the arcade version of ridge racer 2 is Attack of the zoolgear sign while in Ridge Racer 1 arcade version there are a couple "WonderEggs" signs
-
Weird.
It was probably a re-release of GSE #7 without the other songs due to the attraction's closing, or, at least, the ride's.
About the RR1 sprites, I know. There's also a G3 label on the side of the cabinet of the game.
-
I searched for this starblade image and I found the results. Apparently, It appears to actually be a LD. I think the 7 tracks were actually inplemented in them.
-
Idk if this comment could be in this thread or the Wonder Eggs thread but...
(translated to english in japanese wikipedia of Wonder Eggs)
"In 1994 Victor music CD 6 songs were recorded newly written music with 9 songs of Wonder Egg in than "THE ELDS STORY OF ..." has been released."
Well I found the "Wonder Eggs 2nd Anniversary The Elds Story of..." album. There was a Namco Wonder Eggs Label. 15 tracks
http://vgmdb.net/album/5938
According to VGMDB, 1-6 of the tracks are from ELDS STORY. The rest of the tracks (7-15) are from the Wonder Eggs park
download (Unfortunately Tracks have to be downloaded seperately, which can be annoying): http://chauthanh.info/animeost/album/wonder-eggs-2nd-anniversary-the-elds-story-of
There was also a cancelled album "Namco Music Wonder Box" that would have been released Feb, 23, 2005. It would have contained 39 CDs (including Galaxian3 and Starblade) and a Bonus CD.
also found another website showing more screenshots of galaxian3 attraction: http://www.bandainamcogames.co.jp/gallery/ayumi/archive/gala3/index.html

http://aladdin-pot.adam.ne.jp/release/totdragoon/
I found this page containing re-arranged tracks of Galaxian3 "Tone of the DRAGOON"
http://vgmdb.net/album/14800
There's 8 courses + Tone of the DRAGOON course1.1
-
NOTE: This album also includes the mobile versions of the music and SFX. So there was either a mobile version of the game that we did not know existed, or they exclusively made it to pay homage to old mobile devices.
I have to get this off my chest.
I took a listen to it today after getting it from ffshrine, and it just took me by surprise!
I know, we already have the arranged Starblade soundtrack, but the one in the NAMCO Game Sound Express was a little different than the one heard on the Laserdisc, unlike this latest album, which has arranged tracks (Laserdisc Version), not to mention the previously unreleased "CHARACTER SHOW".
We could label the two of them... Starblade (NAMCO Game Sound Express ver.), and Starblade (Laserdisc w/o SFX edition).
One thing bad about this album, however, is that they used the VOICE sounds from the arcade PCB boards (Therefore very low quality), compared to NAMCO Game Sound Express using the masters for the VOICE lines (Therefore... well you get the idea).
I think we should expect Vol. 6 to do GALAXIAN3, previously unreleased tracks, and (again) Laserdisc versions.
-
Someone uploaded the LD music to Nicovideo if you want to hear it all: http://www.nicozon.net/watch/sm14981436
I like the first track in particular that plays over the intro, "Space Genetation"...I wonder where the track titles are from?
-
Well, I'm back!
I thought I'd post this here, since I posted my original files on this thread as well. I recently revisited the Laserdisc soundtrack, and going back to my old track files for archival purposes made me realize how badly they needed an update. The new version is in lossless WAV, featuring heavily improved sound quality over the previous release.
The new version is more complete, as well, featuring longer versions of most tracks than the earlier MP3 variants. I also included the short Zolgear intro, which exists on the Zolgear Game Sound Express disc, to transition between the two games' soundtracks on the disc.

(Edit 2018-06-02: Realized the "Zolgear" bumper track was on GSE No. 16. [Toykyle] Changed usage purpose to transitional between soundtracks.)
-
Nice. It's good to see the compilation music for GALAXIAN3 be preserved, lossless especially. ;D
Also, quick note: Track "04 - The Cause Was Found" is actually on Volume 16th (Attack of the Zolgear) of the NAMCO Game Sound Express series as track 11, "Zolgear".
-
Whoops. I'll fix the main post.
I'll probably leave it in this compilation, though; it works well as a transition between the Dragoon and Zolgear tracks.
