What ? No-one else interested ?!?!? It's not like you buy these reworked and tested and working around the corner in Europe these days !!

What may help out of course isssssss........ EADS !!! Yes, the trusty old European Arcade Distribution System may help get more people on mainland Europe interested to get one of these goodies....

The offer is that we may have Martin (the delivery man) transport these monitors and/or bricks from forcefilfil's place to a nice place called Oxford where ChrisChris will be able to pick these things up next October and bring them over to Belgium. From there, further distribution is needed of course, depending on where you live etc.

So, this means we'll just have to split costs of Martin's trip, so the more on board, the cheaper it'll be :)

FYI forcefulfil has already shipped stuff following this route, so he knows how and what.

In the mean time Phil, I'd sure like to see some pictures of the available monitors and bricks if possible, and from experience, pictures sell :)

(Oh and the -801 and Asteroids Power Brick are "on hold" already ;) )

Hi I would be interested in a power brick please, driving a AR3 board so I think the Battlezone one would work (this is to be a spare for my Gauntlet machine restoration).

With all respect, but personally I don't consider it "nice" to have a first post on a buy/for sale thread....

I vote for a post limit here before people are allowed access to the Buy/Sell section.

My Apologies, I was not aware of the etiquette.

I'll save myself from further bother by asking the admin to please delete my account, thanks for your understanding.

No need for a account deleteion, just write a few words about yourself in the off topic section.... :)

I need a monitor for my Asteroids upright.. But I guess getting it to Eurocade would be difficult? Please send me a message if it's possible. If you're willing to ship I may be interested in that too.

Edit: By the way, I'm starting to feel that the "INTRODUCE YOURSELF FIRST DAMNIT!" comments to new members lately are a bit rude and makes our little community seem less friendly than it is.

Muerto said it right, just a small introduction would be nice.  :)

Welcome to DLF/ALS  :)

I agree, but I think it is more fair for long time members here who contribute to threads to have a first chance on offers like this....just MHO, like I wrote "personally".....

like I said on many forums you can't even see the buy/sell section unless you have posted a certain number of times and I agree with that, it prevents people from using the forum just as a means to sell/buy stuff.

Again, I am not the guy running the show here.....I just voiced my opinion.

Maybe better to discuss this in a seperate thread though, don't want to hog Phil's thread....

oh and I definitly do not think my reply to Chain was rude in any way and definitly not like ..INTRODUCE YOURSELF FIRST DAMNIT...

Hi Guys!
here are some pictures as requested, the 2 monitors listed as "no burn" indeed have none at all
the others i dont think are bad,but are visible with the game off, they also dont affect game play,so i took a pic with the flash on to try to show them best i could, just so there is no misconception that they do have a little burn etc....
any more questions or extra specific pics just drop me a line..
cheers

I know and I agree. In fact around the time I entered this forum no-one did a formal introduction....Im not that highly strung on those introductions although I do like them. It's just the other things I already explained.

Now back on topic and Chain, just do what Muerto and Darth suggested and start to "come alive" on this wonderful forum first a bit :)

And there seem to be plenty power bricks for all of us :):)

Great pics, thanks Phil !

Haha, I think that would be a problem! ;D I would have to pack it properly and check it in of course.  :)
Title: Re: B+W Vector Monitors & Atari Bricks
Post by: level42 on August 11, 2013, 10:24:24 AM
Meaning it would go with the regular luggage .......you do know how they handle that right ?

And it's quite expensive too I fear.....

I have no idea, Sometimes there are people with the most insane things they are bringing with them on planes....

Apart from all that: Chris won't be in the UK until october so that is too late for Eurocade.

If packed well, a monitor can be safely shipped. Packing well does NOT mean filling it with chips....the external forces will be passed on to the neck through the chips. It's a common made mistake. Double boxing is key, and making sure not any stress will reach the neck, no matter what happens during shipment. The g05 cage is already pretty well set up for this. Maybe some very strong cardboard or even some very light wood covering the entire back would do the trick. I'd put the screen side on the bottom, it's the strongest and heaviest part.

I'm very interested in a spare monitor for my Asteroids but can't tell you which one until this Wednesday.
As I already told Phil, I'm definitely buying one of the bricks too.
As mentioned by Andre, I can bring whatever you buy from Oxford to Belgium mid-October.
Buyers will have to share the costs of transportation from Phil to Oxford which should be done by the awesome "Martin the deliveryman" (I haven't asked him for a quote yet).

Level42: You're right! Having thought about it, it would only be troublesome to bring it to/from Eurocade, and it would probably cost me more than posting it.

But I have a complete Asteroids cabinet with power brick and pcb. I just need a monitor.  :-\
