Hi.
For the restoration of my Journey-cab I need some parts. Since some other Midway-cabs used the same parts maybe someone has them and is willing to sell them :)
OK, what I need:
* Black plastic bezel for 19" monitor (Midway nr. 0557-00900-000) LINK (http://www.pac-man.com/mspacman/cocktail/in/)
* 4 clips (the can also be seen in the link above for the bezel), someone said they are for holding the tinted plexi to the plastic bezel...no clue how this works or should look like
* Diffuser / tinted plexi glass, can get it on my own if I know the exact measures
* Kickplate LINK (http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=KICKPLATEM)
Anyone has them lying around?
Thanks :)

OK, I have a picture of the Bezel I need.
I found that scr33n bought MY bezel for his Burgertime build-from-scratch ;)

And these are the clips that hold down the tinted plexi.

Need those for my Galaxian too....they're still missing.

Galaxian has these, too?? I should dig around the Midway manuals to find out, what games used these. Does it also have the same bezel?
I should go into our gameroom and see if I can butcher our Midway cabs...we have Pac Man, Galaxian, Discs of Tron,.... ;D ;)

I think Pac, Galaxian, Ms.Pac and following that Galaga probably as well, but how would I know about Galaga ? ;)
-
Galaxian had a different surround, bezel & tinted sheet than my Lazarian at least.
Paul.

Yes, according to the manual the bezels have different numbers.
I have contacted a KLOVer who wants me to make an offer for a set of bezel/tinted plexi/clips.
André, are you sure these are the clips you need? I could ask him, he seems to have some Midway stuff.
What do you guys think is a reasonable price? For 30 years old plastic stuff ;D
-
I'm not 100% sure...but I know that my tinted plexi is loose and that can't be right, right ?
-
Pacman have also a different surround
-
OK, I found a source for all the bezel stuff I need. He has more of those Midway parts if someone is in need. Let me know and I will ask.
I wanted to have it come over here in Container #3, contacted Love to get green light for it.
André, if you're looking for the clips in your Midway Galaxian I can take a look in mine and see what you need....only if they're in their place in mine, of course ;)
-
hm, I took a picture of my Galaxian...if this the original bezel there are no clips for the tinted plexi...mine even doesn't have the tinted plexi at all :-\
-
Pac-Man and Galaxian have smoked plexi, but no clips. The plexi is mounted on the plastic bezel with black adhesive plastic tape. The size of the plexi is for both games the same.
Galaga and Ms.Pac also have smoked plexi and clips. Also the same size for both games.
The size of the plexi glass for the first two games is different from the size of the last two games.

Do you know if my bezel is original? ???
-
Yes CKONG is 100% correct. I forgot but indeed the plexi is taped (in a rather basic way) to the bezel. I'm 99% sure yours is original.
One tip: don't go too dark when buying a plexi for this. I'm convinced that the dark tine of these bezels made it necessary to overdrive the brightness of the screen, which resulted in CRT burn. Take a look at about any Ms.Pac Man you see in original condition and it has the maze literarily edged into the phosphor.
So if you use a less dark plexi, you won't have to "turn it up" so high...
-
Screenburn ? on a mrs pac ?? ;D

Yes, its unplugged :o

Time for that one to retire to the test bench. It's had a good long working life ;)
Paul.

One thing forgot:
The Galaxian bezel is always "loose" over my monitor. Whenever I move the cab it gets shifted around. Do we know if it is supposed to be mounted in some way ? On a Ms.Pac that is neatly arranged...
-
The plexi is mounted on the glas with galaxian
-
This is a pacman/galaxian bezel

Ah, so I should stick the bezel/plexi combo to the glass bezel ? Weird....and a bit scary...
-
Only the plexi not the combo
Maybe only on early games ?

No stick it on the glass bezel with double tape

There should be little screw holes bottom left and right, where the bezel can be screwed to the wood beneath it. At least, that is done with my Galaxian and it looks original, somehow. ???
-
Yes, mine was nailed with small nails to the bottom wood :)
-
OK, meanwhile I have the black plastic bezel, the tinted plexi and the clips with the screws. I was very happy....until I found out that there is nothing I could screw them to ???
Did some investigation and guess what? More parts missing :'(
Maybe someone has those two metal brackets for sale.....please dig your boxes and storages!
Thanks :)
