I will not post my story before Bruno and Chris has posted theirs, as they has the most interesting trip of all!!! :spaceace:
But i will post this.... who would have thought this would happen after 20 years on a boat with no heat???!!!
You're right!, the game doesn't work! - though, a swap with a working PCB and it´s there...!!!

wow, and the sides also look very good. Congratulations, now you got two. :o ;D
-
Uh ? The preview pic shows it working but the video not ?
That sound near the PS doesn't sound right ! It also doesn't look like an original Atari Power Brick ?

Hehe, i know, it was on purpose ;D
There´s definitely something wrong with the PS!, shouldent make that sound! - and i have never seen a power brick like that, looks like an update of the one in my Centipede....:
Heres the one in the MC:

And here´s a pic of the ARII PCB.... it´s fricking new!!!!!!

Sorry for the shitty quality, but i forgot my camera in DK when i moved here >:( >:( >:(
-
congrats on this Muerto! :spaceace:
i hope i will find a mc upright sometime for my collection.
-
Lol, i didn't watch the video a thought it was working! Still a great catch, so what are you going to do with your old one? ;D ;)
-
hahaha, you where not the only one!!!
-

I was about to say that..
i thought you already had a very limited edition of MC..
The only with handpainted sidearts ;D
Anyway, congrats on your catch !
-
Actually, i don´t know yet..
I think ill keep it for now, it´s all ways nice with a spare one ;)
-
eh, i don't get it somehow. is it working or not?
-
It´s all in the video, but it´s not working.
Though, there´s light in diode on the main PCB, and there´s neck glow..... but the game dosent start.
-
Hehehe, you got me, I also thought it is working. ;D

That is the point, a spare cab is always nice from a classic like Missile Command. ;)
-
have you tried the brightness pot?
-
Actually no, where's that located? - i will give it a go tomorrow....
Hehe, it could actually be pretty cool if it worked!
-
It was so cool to see you again, buddy!
You've been super helpful and I still owe you for the bacon and eggs sandwiches :P
Damn that Missile Command is such a great catch.
The insides from most of the games from that bulk buys are really super clean... but more on that very soon ;) ;)
-
Did you try to credit it ?
I'd be very careful. If that sound is coming from the Power Brick there maybe a bad Big Blue or even a bad diode bridge, which could both kill your main PCB.
I'm surprised it is not working. Come'on it's an Atari ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

depends what monitor is in there. either on the left or the right of the chassis, often in combination with the focus pot!
-
Just tried to ajust the pods + coin up it without any luck...
I really wish i had a working MC PCB, because i really think it would work...
-
Check the voltages first my friend !!!
Measure DC for the 5Volt but also AC because I wouldnt be surprised if there would still be an AC component in the 5v.......
-
Upon Andrés call, i bought this, as my other (and much cheaper) mulitmeter is in Denmark.

I hope it wil do the trick...

Just measured the MC PCB and ARII PCB.... :o Here´s the results:
MC PCB:
+5V = +3.09V
+12V = -0.71V !!!!!!!!!
-5V = -5.29V OK
ARII PCB
-5V = -5.17V OK
+10.3V = +8.77V !!
-22V = -15.06V !!!
+22V = +15.02V !!!
+12V = -0.57V !!!!!!!!!!!!!
+36VAC = +11.48VAC !!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO WONDER THE GAME DOSEN'T RUN!! :P :P :P :P
Any suggestion what causes this?? New big blue?? New PS??
-
It also doesn't look like an original Atari Power Brick ?
Just dloaded the manual, and was somewhat surpriced to see that it is actually an original Atari Power Supply!
-
Started measuring the whole cab, but ran into problems.... here´s what i have so far:

with my limited knowledge i can tell you tha the ariiis are often the cause of problems, don't know if you have a spare one you could try ...
-
Let's start with the beginning. Are you sure you measured that AC output correctly ?
We'll have to know the output of the power brick is OK before we can blaim the AR-2.
Something you SHOULD check: The edge connector and the PCB "fingers" where it sits. The difference between the output of the +5V on the AR-2 and what you measure on the PCB is HUGE !!!
See if the connector has a TIGHT grip on the edge of the PCB, see if there is any burning or corrosion....
As you know there is a regulation circuit that will try to up the +5V output so be careful....
-
The manual is pretty useless for this by the way, get (part of) the schematics:
http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Arcade_Atari_Kee/Missile_Command/Missile_Command_DP-147-2nd-01A.pdf
Start measuring across J9 pin 4 and 5 on the AR-2 board. You should have 36 VAC there. If not, remove the connector and measure again on the connector of course).
-
All the measurements is done on the PCB´s themselves (there´s those small loopholes coming out of the PCBs)
The edge connector is clean, and so are the pcb it self...
To be sure of the measurements i did them 3 times!
-
That AC voltage is wayyyyy too far off to get anything right but it seems some voltages are OK.
Rebuild the AR2 and I bet your game will work, had the same with my MC cabaret...
