I'm looking for a Sega 315-5015 chip for my Super Locomotive pcb.
If anybody knows any source for this, please let me know. ;)
-
If you know or can find out what other PCB's it was used on then you can ask for those too :)

It is in the "Z80 based" section on this site:
http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=688&gid=3243#3243
Anybody have some of these boards to check if it is also there?

i just love the Z80 its a awesome processor! its also in the gameboy and the ti graphical calculators but thats of topic.
I think you best bet is to find a mooncresta pcb those seem to float allot. and even for cheap price's

I have a vague memory that there is a common 8-bit (Z80) platform "Sega System 8" that had Wonderboy and a few other titles on it. If it's on or nearly on that platform then it may have it.
Can you post a good close up picture of your PCB?

Atm. I only have this, it is at my Old Friend's workshop:

Yes, that's reminding me of Sega System 8 based games around that era. If you're lucky, that custom may have been used on other PCB's.

Which one on the picture is it? It might be possible to burn a new one with the data from the Mame Roms.

That one in the middle of that beautiful red circle. ;D

Is that an encrypted Z80, like the one the used on other 8-bit sega games?
Look at this file in the MAME source...
http://mamedev.org/source/src/mame/machine/segacrpt.c.html (http://mamedev.org/source/src/mame/machine/segacrpt.c.html)
103 List of encrypted games currently known:
104
105 CPU Part # Game Comments
106 ???-???? Buck Rogers unencrypted version available
107 315-5010 Pengo unencrypted version available
108 315-5013 Super Zaxxon used Zaxxon for known plaintext attack
109 ???-???? Super Locomotive
...
123 315-5069 Star Force game by Tehkan; same key as Super Locomotive
124 ???-???? Pinball Action game by Tehkan; also has a simple bitswap on top
...
It looks like it might be the encrypted Z80 :( However, the table above suggests it might be the same as Star Force. And there may be enough info to consider make an unencrypted ROM set to use with a standard Z80.
