Post by: Etienne MacGyver on September 05, 2011, 02:20:40 PM
Okay guys, time for me to start posting..
I left friday night after work and dinner to the eurocade location to help out with the guys  8)

After driving for 30 minutes i arrive (for the first time this weekend, i will make some more drives from and to this location..)
That looks like the building where all the magic is going to happen !  :spaceace:

Pieter, Robin, Punkrocky and that strange photostalker that he picked up on the way, where already there, and alot of stuff was already on location..  :P

Starwars cockpit, together with R2D2.

2 nintendo's hmmm, love those!  :-*

The only space pirate upright in the world that we know of is also there, I love that zacc !
It was only smaller than i expected.

The Pac threesome..  ;)

Galaxian and Centipede..

A Mame / Jamma cab, unfortunately not in working order..., a Euro Joust, and that wonderful Berzerk !

Pole position 2, in working condition !
I liked the game on the 2600, and on my namco tv joystick, and never had played it on a real cabinet.
The steering is so sensitive !  :o
Next to that my good old CK Zacc..

I am not a huge fan of flippers, but from time to time i like to play a round or 2..

After robin attached the legs, i tried it out...
Man, i did like to play some times like i said before, but this was my favorite pin !  :spaceace:
MONSTERBASH Rules !  :pac:

The owner of the Monsterbash also brought an Arabian nights, which i liked too..

There was a problem with the centi, and after Andre fixed it, he pushed the cab back in position.

Thats already looking good !

A super Lineup, also compliments from my wife, she liked it that there was thought about the floorplan, and that everything was organised very neat..

And one more shot of the Starwars cockpit.

Again 30 minutes driving and i was home @ 0:30..

See you guys tomorow at 7:30 ...  ::)

Sunday morning 10:30 am.
The morning after...   Time for coffee !

Everybody clapped because robin showed up..  :D

There is robin!, Glad you made it man !
The wagon is ready for loading..

Now i need to give a big  :spaceace: to muerto, one year ago he offered me a CK boardset,
As time went by i did not think anymore about it, and also because i already had a replacement board for my ck.
The original boards that i have are having issues, but in the end i have found a working board.
anyway, it was a surprise that michael remembered, and acctually brought the board with him, and gave it to me !
That was a very cool thing to do, and i am very happy with it !

This is the board we are speaking about: https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=2054.msg25342#msg25342 (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=2054.msg25342#msg25342)

So when i got my CK out ready for transport, i was curious if it was working, so i connected it to my cab....

And another big Surprise showed up!,  not only was it an original Falcon board, it was also a Real Crazy kong !
That was ofcourse what you expected, but not entirely true, when i say a real crazy kong, i mean "PART 1", all the others that i know of and have are Crazy Kong "Part II"..

My original boards are now at Robin for repair, so in the end i will have 2 original Falcon boards; 1 CK part 1, and 1 CK part II.

Both will come in my cab in the future, so again Big Thanks Muerto !  :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:

CK dismanteled and ready to go home..

Andre's friend brought a trailer which could haul 8 uprights and the starwars cockpit at once !  :o

There comes the SW Cockpit...

And lets not forget the empty Q*bert in the back of the van, so 9 uprights and a cockpit in one trip !

Everybody helps with the cockpit..

I disengaged my wagon and "docked" with the other wagon that had the Pac and the DK onboard..

Time to drive the Pac and the DK back to Gyruss place..

Later the last part..

Some shots of the starwars trilogy loading..

on the way to gyruss i only see the protection in my rearview mirror..

But when i look around the corner in the other mirror, i can see that the pac and the DK are still on the wagon.  8)

We safely arrived at Gyruss place  :P

I drove back to Ridderkerk, where robin and andre where waiting for me, they needed the wagon for the Judge Dredd Pin and the Mame/jamma cab.

i switched wagons and helped them loading the pin.
after saying goodbye, i drove home, and see the CK in the rearview mirror..

Finally home...  ?  nope, i still need to go to my mothers house to return the CK....

I am totally beat now, but it was so worth it !

Great to see all that I missed. Very well put event!
Who has an iCade?
The Consollete is also a surprising thing to me.
<architectmode>WTF is that little roof with red tiles doing there???? OMG clubhouse owners mess up some interiors around the country!</architectmode>

Writing this from underneath that little roof: Lekker belangrijk !

FYI the tiles on it are from our former clubhouse. Like the old wood floor and some decoration. We're a music club and have no money for fancy interior architects, sorry.

I think we have a great bar-room, I've never seen anything similar at any other music club.....it has it's own atmosphere and we had many great parties there.

I hate the interior of the rehearsal room much more. The curtains, the walls, the floor everything is ultra ugly, but again, money is tight...

I must say that I totally didn't notice the room interior anymore once the cabinets started rolling in, but it is funny how pictures change your focus/ perspective so that you notice type ugliness much more...

Can't agree more, don't have a problem with that at all, just puzzles me how these things happen. Even if budget is tight, someone puts a tremendous effort in this kind of fancy recycling.

I like the little roof, and also have thought about something simular to do on my terras..

but then in the "open form" (so you can see the wood construction and the back of the "dakpan" when your looking from under it)

Yup, rubber necking all around :)

Excellent pictures Etienne, man I am so glad people took so many pics, I completely forgot about it for most of the day....still got a few funny one's though.

Can't wait to see the picture where you were sitting IN the cockpit while it was already on the trailer Etienne  ;D ;D ;D

Almost my complete collection in that trip....bit scary. Normally I put some scrap wood under one side of the SW cockpit so it is lifted so that the wheels can't roll. However, I couldn't find anything suitable so quickly, so I saw the SW rolling left-right in some corners (drove behind it), but it was never a hard bump because of the wrapping luckily.

Yup it's a lot of work ! I kept thinking how do the guys at CAX manage 200+ machines !?!?!?! (Plus everything else).

Finally uploaded my pics. Well the few I made. They gameroom pics don't really add that much, but whatever. There are some nice "after-party" pics though...

First "setting up":

Etienne, Bencao,PunkRockCaveMan, Gyruss & CKONG:

The time for my baby to shine in full. As Etienne mentioned, it's a shame that you see so little of it in my gameroom, here you see it in all it's glory.
R2 was our security guard. The SW trilogy marquee is already there, the rest followed saturday morning !

First pins set-up, the JD backglass is still waiting at home...

Yes, now I'm 100% sure: the MB is going to be stripped of parts and FINALLY painted ASAP !

Nice row ! The Asterock coin-door still has to be fixed.....thanks Etienne for doing another last minute job !!!

Pic from the other side of the pinball section. Lovely machines. I love the TOTAN ! To my utter regret I forgot to play a game on the Monster Bash (or it was occupied too much ;) )! And here is PunkRuckCaveman caught in the act breaking the House Rules !  ;D ;D ;D

Belike & Mrs.Level42, working on improving Holland-Hungary international relations  ;D ;D

Well, the other present ladies started to look jealous so...our orchestra's bass sax player Pauline (no funny DK jokes please !  ;D ;D):

and Marion, mum of a boy in the orchestra that plays trumpet...I seem to look a tiny bit tired.... ;D ;D ;D ;D
(http://gallery.me.com/andre.huijts/101009/DSCF7325/web.jpg?ver=13154613710001)

Pauline and Jaap (drummer pur sung in our drumband & orchestra). Both TOTALLY loved the games and were playing like nuts after the orchestra's rehearsel.
Jaap's comment on Star Wars cockpit: |Man, it's totally crazy, you completely feel in 3D by just a bunch of lines, the effect is brilliant. I love that game !"

Our music club's chair man Corné. The one who gave his OK on having Eurocade ad the clubhouse (and the orchestra moving it's rehearsel). He totally enjoyed the event ! (http://gallery.me.com/andre.huijts/101009/DSCF7327/web.jpg?ver=13154613860001)

Sunday.....Ruud and his son Ricardo are here to do some serious hauling...

Machines ready for transport. Why can't we just leave them ALL there and start an arcade ?

Last picture. What a sad one....only the Play Scene (which I TOTALLY shouldn't have brought....sorry Hi !!!) and the Judge waiting to go home...

Yes, but that was during building, and not during the main event  ;)

Yeah, but the house rule of the clubhouse is no drinks in the rehearsal room ....at all times ;)

The various staines in the floor show why (although not all of them are from drinks...)

But OK, these were just the first drinks... ;D ;D ;D ;D
