I'm just trying the waters here.....
The thing is I might need to give this one up so I can put my JD pinball in my gameroom.
I did invest a lot of money into it (the famous CPO and the original marquee were both pretty expensive) and as usual I don't need to make a profit but would like to see the invested money returned (mostly)...
The current condition of the machine is not working. I was in the process of installing a 48in1, BUT RobinHolland got the original PCB up and running on his test-bench. The PCB however, is of poor build quality and I haven't tested it in the machine yet.
If the sale goes on, I will have to exchange my Midway Pac joysticks, because I won't let that carefully restored Pac Joystick go, however, as mentioned, the original joystick from my Ms. Pac will be included.
Of course the CPO is brand new. The marquee is like new. There is some minor flaking of the bezel. The side-art is in OK condition, but of course with the usual wear.
The monitor needs a cap-kit but works. (Hantarex).
So let me know if anyone's interested and we'll discuss things. I'm pretty sure I can't get the full investment back, but I'm a reasonable guy :)

Why don't you sell your Jamma cab?
-
Or the JD ;D ;D ;D
nee hoor , geintje ! hahah
-
Why don't you sell your Jamma cab?
Yeah...well about the other 4568 games that I do not have in my gameroom.
Plus it is supposed to double as a jukebox for the gameroom....
JD......yes it did cross my mind. Let's say that I'm open for offers. Thing is that my wife and son like it a lot, but I haven't seen them playing much lately.....
-
pinball vs video game - a no brainer to me (but that you already knew). if i were you, andré, i wouldn't sell it, because you invested so much in this cab (not just money-wise) that it would be sad to see it go. however, the question is: would it get a lot of playtime when one of your grails, ms pac-man, is sitting right next to it ... ?
-
Exactly the whole point Ully, I don't _really_ need 2 Pac cabs.
As you know I have to keep focus on games I REALLY REALLY REALLY want and enjoy playing for the Gameroom. I am forced to be picky because of the limited space.
Of course, the Puckman arrived WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY before I got the Ms.Pac and the choice between the two...well no need to explain. Also, I still plan on getting a (simple) multi-pac for it, yeah I know you don't like it but at least that way I can play both Pac and Ms.Pac.
Pinball....I love pinball. I think no gameroom is complete without at least one. Just like no Gameroom is complete without a vector game. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Pins do take loads of space though...
-
Just like no Gameroom is complete without a vector game. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
ouch, that hurt ... :ghost:
-
That means my game room is totally incomplete!!?!?! >:( ??? ;D ;)
-
Totally, because the THIRD thing that every gameroom should have is a classic B/W game (Raster, doesn't count to take f.i. Asteroids and say, hey, this is B/W AND Vector). ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I totally agree. ;D
-
how's your gameroom faring, erik?
-
That means my game room is totally incomplete!!?!?! >:( ??? ;D ;)
...and so is mine which is just G_R_E_A_T !
How sad would our lives be if our quest was finished for ever?
EDIT: the only pinball I would ever consider buying one day in a not so near future and in a galaxy far far away is the simpsons.
I really had fun playing it once.
-
Do not forget to include a laser disc game in your game room ::) ;D
-
I'll just quit the hobby then. ;)
Seriously, i think every game room should have a a game with special controls (star wars, paperboy, operation wolf, outrun etc).
Those games made me want to visit an arcade back in the day, because i couldn't really play them on my console.
I wouldn't mind a cool vector game thou, really like the minimalistic look, high resolution and glow. :D
-
Agree with both! (even a trackball counts as special control)
What really brought me to an arcade place the first time were the kiddy rides (relax, it was a very long time ago).
They were always placed at the entrance or on the sidewalks of arcades.
That's why I think every gameroom entrance needs a kiddy ride ;)
-
Agreed ! i want a helicopter or Ufo ! :P ;D
-
And it's always safer to put it in a private place instead of a public sidewalk now that we are (a bit) older to use them ;)

kiddie rides rock!!! but in our case, let's call them oldie rides :P
-
PUCKMAN IS SOLD !!!!
-
Great news, now go buy a new cab (if it isn't already done ;))!
-
not yet....but close :)
-
who bought it?
-
It was me ;) it like stays in the family ... the badass nephew got it :D
-
Nice to see that it goes to a good home !
and you already know the cab, it was at Eurocade...
although there was a 60 in 1 in the cab i recall ?
-
Jup, 48in1 ;) but the original pcb (maintained by Robin) is included. I will stick with that one, André keeps the 48in1. There is some wiring work to do, the Hanta needs a capkit and maybe I have to think about removing the extra button in the panel :D The stick might need maintenance as well, but he overall condition of the cab is good. I will install yellow t-molding as well. Puckman (and especially a bootleg version ... I can't remember which one) was one of the first cabs I played in the wild. Very cool to have that one in the collection. I prefer it miles over the midway pacs for personal reasons :D:D:D
-
...in that case....I double the price ;) ;D ;D ;D
-
Hehe .. To late ... and personal stories are not price effective (says the arcade buy/sell almanach). Maybe you should have painted it yellow and sell it to some Billy Mitchel fanclub :D the shape is quite simular to the midway pacs isn't it?
-
Well, congratulations with a very nice looking cab! - and i had the pleasure of a handful of game on it before it died under the heat at EuroCade.... :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:
-
did it die ? i thought the mrs pac died, not the puckman ???
-
That was what I was thinking, too. The Puck only had degauss-issues and a bit blury picture. A cap-kit should fix most of the problems.
-
Congratulations, it's a very nice cab.

I also adjusted the pots a bit, and indeed a degauss with my hand degauss wand, which was a major difference :o
[off topic]
@Gyruss: i remember i took out that spot on your zero hour also with the degausser, is it still good ?
[/off topic]
-
Indeed the Puckman survived without problems but that was of course partly because of the 48 in 1 and Atari ST power supply (! ;D) that I used for it...
The original PCB is of a poor build quality so I think that indeed it may be best to use your Midway PCB. You'll have to check pin-out though ! (Maybe Robin remembers ?)
-
Maybe I can get my hands on a more reliable version of Puckman ;) I will try the original pcb first anyway. The pinout would come handy of course, I hope Robin still has it ;)

Yes it is!! :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:

Punk, before you buy any T-moling...we gotta check the size... It's a European cab after all so the sides are probably not US sized...
The T-molding on it now (what's left of it) is VERY shallow/flat. Nothing like I've seen elsewhere.
-
OK! Thanks for the tip ;) I will wait with my order anyway to see what I else need from the states ... Maybe a new overlay without an extra hole (sorry, just kidding). :D
-
You _ARE_ out of luck on that one because I actually did have TWO overlays (because Rich was nice enough to send me a spare for....if anything would happen ::) ::)
However, I sold that one to Arcadegek some time ago. He happens to have the same cab :)
-
Hmmm, that's not that bad. You uploaded the eps file somewhere right? I know a guy that can print overlays in pretty good quality. Even with the like rough surface (don't know how you call this ...).
-
Yeah it must be somewhere, guess Zorg has it ? Check the resto thread must be a link there...
-
By the way I do feel pretty guilty that so many people did so much work to get that CPO right and I've enjoyed it only for such a short time.....but sometimes you have to make decisions. I never thought I would once own a real Ms.Pac...so I was happy enough with the Puck....yep ....things evolve and change all the time....
