Title: Introduction off a newbie
Post by: Arcadegek on February 11, 2011, 10:54:16 AM
Hi Everyone!

I'm New to this forum but an old school arcade collector. I started 9 years ago when a rediscovered the fun
of old school gaming. Since then I'm frequently busy with the Gaming stuff. Most interested area's for me?
all kind of Pacman variants, galaga88, gyruss. Also DMD Pinball machines, game consoles, mame cab's and PCB's.

Anyway I like it all alot and hoping to spend a good time on this forum!

Just a friendly warning  ;)

at least one? will be more, I'm sure of that.

Welcome here, arcadegek. I'm sure that you will have a lot of fun on this forum. By the way, where are you approxiamtely located in Holland. It would be nice to have a dutch forum member in the Eastside of the country, but for some reason almost everything arcade related seems to be centralized in the 010 and 020 area.

Hey Hallo, everyone! It feels like coming home with all those warm welcome's  :D

To answer some of the questions asked; Im from the south west of the Netherlands
Zeeuws Vlaanderen, 40km from Antwerp (BE) 30 km from Gent (BE) and =/- 10km from Terneuzen.
Born and raised in the area 010 but since I started this hobby all the houses where way to little.

So I needed some serious space to expend my needs  . I hope the current 400m2 will last for a while ;)
After renovating 80% of the property the last 2 years, my "Arcadegekte" started to moan again.
BTW you never guess which room was the first that was fhinished??

I tried to put here ..... some pics but how do I place them in this topic  ??? anyone?

Currently I own;

Videocab's
Ms Pacman - Galaga 20year reunion cocktail cab (11/2007)
Galaxians (Bootleg cab)
Mame cab
Puckman cab (Italian bootleg of the NSM namco version?)
Pinball Pro cab
Opus actua soccer cab (which will be used for another Mame project)
Artwork for building an Galaga cocktail cab and a MS. pacman cocktail cab from scratch

Pinball DMD machines

Monsterbash
Circus Voltaire
Theatre of Magic
Arabian Nights
Star trek the Next Generation
White water
Fish Tales
Shrek
Grandprix

Further more alot of original PCB's +/- 60
And also a bunch of consoles (boxed)
Also a competition 8 feeth pool table

On my wish list.... to start with;)

Galaga cab
Gyruss cab
Pacman cab
Qix cab
Donkey kong cab

I guess that's about it, to give you a impression of the current situation, I hope I melt in the 'gang" a little?

Hey Hallo, everyone! It feels like coming home with all those warm welcome's  :D

+1 !  I feel the same when i open the DLF webpage  ;D

I tried to put here ..... some pics but how do I place them in this topic  ??? anyone?

You need to link to your pics, the forumcode will do the rest;
example: when you type the link and select it, and the you press the icon of "picture"; (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/Themes/default/images/bbc/img.gif) your text will get some aditional code and will look simular to this :

[ img ]http://www.myhost.whatever/pictures/picture.jpg[ /img ] (without the spaces though)

I guess that's about it, to give you a impression of the current situation, I hope I melt in the 'gang" a little?

It sounds good for now  ;)

@ Level42 I think it's 100% the same? Only your original marquee was different right?
The wood of the cab is in a bad shape :( But I have all the measurements, glass and all the metal so I think I will rip the cab
and start rebuilding a new? But only if I can find new artwork  :-\. Is there artwork available that you know?

Ok here the pictures.......

Hah, if you can live with a small cross-hatch on the yellow dot between the ghosts, I've got a brilliant new CPO for you here.....

Yes that's exactly my machine :)

I've got the original marquee now. Yours is the first that I see that has (what is very likely) the original joystick !!

oooops  :o I guess this was to test of the material would be flexible enough also to see if it can stand the heat of playing
I also noticed that it all came out great and ended as a perfect job!! I can't wait to start mine ...... have to hold my horses becuase I have so many other (more ??? important) projects.

But....., Next to all these other responsable labor I will presure myself also to spend time on the rising of a renovated puckman cab.  :pac:
BTW. I don't think I'm going to use the old hardware. The pcb will be cleaned tested and then preserved in a anti-static plastic bag. And boxed next to my other pcb's.

Inside the cab I am thinking to place a 21inch vga crt Hantarex witch I still have 2 of. Put a low-key pc in the cab and place all the Pacman copy's of my pcb collection in it? ok ok im daydreaming  ::) The main issue will be the cab!

Does anyone knows if the measurements of this cab is the same as the original Namco Pacman. ms.pacman and galaga cab?
if so I maybe going to duplicate some extra wood panels for future purposes.
