Title: interested in (some of) ravage's games? JUMP ABOARD!
Post by: Superully on April 18, 2010, 07:18:31 PM

the guy where bruno got his moon patrol and ghost'n'goblins from still has some great games for sale. right now i'm in negotiations with him regarding some cabs and IF the deal comes through, i'm driving over to england to pick the games up in person.

i will most likely buy the PAC-LAND, am strongly interested in the SINISTAR COCKPIT plus i'm considering XEVIOUS, DOMINO MAN and ELEVATOR ACTION. although i've asked him hundreds of times, he doesn't want to sell his TAPPER - damn !

since i will be passing though belgium on my way to england, i thought maybe someone else from this forum is interested in cabs from rav which i could then bring along - for a huuuge delivery charge of course  ;)

here's the original thread on jamma+: http://www.jammaplus.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15734&KW=&PID=134474&title=retrokade-cabs-for-sale#134474 (http://www.jammaplus.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15734&KW=&PID=134474&title=retrokade-cabs-for-sale#134474)

and here are some pics: http://www.retrokade.com/sales/cabs/ (http://www.retrokade.com/sales/cabs/)

perhaps we could get something like a "ravage bulk deal" going! so get into gears, guys, and JUMP ABOARD!  8)

That's a great idea  :-*

There are still some serious stuff in that list, but nothing in my "I WANT TO DIE FOR THIS ONE" list  ;)
As my 'gamer' side (not collector side), I would like to add the Juno First in my game room  ::)
I've just drop him a mail for this one, and of course I've mentioned the 'group deal' with you  ;)

Let's stay tuned  :P

he sells quit some interesting cabs, nice pics but I don't see no prices...?

I am wondering what the price of the Mario bros, 1942 or the Qix cab is...

1942 is listed with 150 pounds, qix with 250 (all in the original thread). i'm sure we can get a much better deal if we bunch up together though. so if there's anything you're really interested in, please let me know and i will forward it to rav!

this is just an inquiry, no order yet, so don't be afraid!  ;)

Are these Jamma cabinets? Not with dedicated PCBs, but emulated? If so, a pity...

The Mario Bros and Neo Geo cabinets look interesting, though.

I was at Rav's place earlier this year, together with Level42. He has a lot of awesome games of which most were in very good condition. We had a lot of fun walking around. And in fact I was there for the Qix cabinet, but I concluded that the price-quality was not in proportion for my liking. And then my interest turned to Phoenix, but Rav was very fond of that cab which was calculated in his sales price, we didn't make a deal. By the way, Rav is a great chap, and you can buy with confidence from him. Unfortunately he sometimes is a bit hard too reach.

To my surprise I now see in his sales topic some nice games for sale which he didn't want let loose a few months ago. And as Ully said, a group buy will probably have a positive downwards effect on prices. So, go for it.  :)

It lists a Defender shell on there (so project) as £250GBP. If you are in Wales and yet don't want to sign up, you can't be that interested in a Defender by having to ask someone in Germany to log on there for you and get the price ;-)

I just bought the Mario Bros :-)
I thought it was SO funny that we discovered that my Radar Scope/Mario Bros cab actually CAME from Rav originally !!! The arcade community is really a small one and cabs sometimes seem to go in circles ;) (For those not knowing: I bought my RS/MB from a Dutch guy but he already mentioned it originally came from the UK....)

Well the MB must somewhat ease the pain of missing the Gravitar I hope !!!

I felt like walking through a candy store during our UK visit both at Rav's and Alpha's place.....

The cab that I would have REALLY wanted was already bought by Bruno: Burger Time !
Of course there are plenty more I'd want, but I've SWORN now to first get ALL my current cabs done and finished ! :D

Oliver

From what i remember i needed a minimum post count of 10 to get into that particular part of the site, i don't really want to make 10 pointless posts and regardless i couldn't remember my login and couldn't find the email to remember what id signed up as a while back, it just seemed a bit easier(lazier) to ask a favour of someone.
enough reasons for you? ;)
and its not for me, a friend wants to buy a defender for her husband as a 25th anniversary gift, i just thought i'd ask a question to help her out.
thanks for the info by the way, i'll pass it on  :)

ok guys, just got word from rav, he's being flooded with emails regarding his cabs, many of which have already been sold, so i guess whoever wants something has to act quickly. here are his responses regarding the cabs you inquired about:

- Ok. 1 qix is sold

- Juno first - working, original £875

-Bubble bobble, bad minitor and pcb untill i look at it. in wms joust cab £750 with new artwork kit included

- Discs of tron. under offer. £1100 as brand new monitor, marquee (hologram has crack) speech pcb ( cheap  squeak) to try and make the uprght talk like articles at arcadecollecting.com

- Marble madness... Presumed sold: final talks tomorrow. delivery saturday

- Outrun: not for sale

- Space invaders.... I have taito si project, perhaps taito si pt.2 project, perhaps midway cabs. Let me know what you are after.

- Defender...... need more talk whether project or restored....

that's it, hope i didn't forget any requests. so if you need more info regarding some of the projects he mentioned, let me know and i'll pass those on to him tonight! if you want to get one of his cabs for sure, let me know as well.

no prob, i totally understand. some of the prices rav is asking are a little bit off i think, but then there are the games which are almost impossible to get in europe (like bruno's moon patrol) and if you really really want a game there's no other choice than to "dig deep"!

i've passed on all your requests to rav, but as i'Ve said before: communication with him is very slow. i'll keep you posted!

Well, ive registered me an account here and perhaps can respond quicker on any queries. I must say im getting about 50 PM's a day at the minute so a delay is more often caused by me wanting to respond in order to everyone - and indeed when Ive also got a definitive answer on things.

I took pictures of the juno first today (not enough camera battery life to pull the cab out and take pics but the sides are complete and lovely. Price reflects a reluctant sale.

Im trying hard to update constantly the picutres and indeed at some point to to do a frontend with details of the cabs etc... one day :0

pictures are at http://www.retrokade.com/sales

Welcome here Rav'  :-*

Thanks for the Juno First pictures.

The price asked is a bit too much for a game just in my 'nice to have" list, so I pass the hand if someone else want it  :-\

anyway, i'm in for definitely (at least) one cab, still waiting for rav's testing of the domino man, mav's refusal to get the xevious 8) and maybe some other cabs as well.

which info are you guys still waiting for? would be best if you posted your questions directly to rav since he's checking this forum now as well! so go ahead, shoot, there's still some space in my van to be filled!

Title: Re: interested in (some of) ravage's games? JUMP ABOARD!
Post by: Ravage on April 29, 2010, 09:41:06 PM
Hi guys
yeah marble has gone. Defenders a bit difficult as I have a really nice one resprayed and restored and still unsure whether to sell or not - open to offers. I have 2 or 3 project shells and parts to do them up but maybe perhaps I should spend the time putitng them together rather than selling as projects, not necessaily as I can ask for more cash its just daft if I have the parts and I enjoy working on WMS cabs!

For people sinfo I have been busy updating pictures and have also spent some time concentrating on certain games, like for instance today I got the road runner and bubble bobble working (no sound tho till I get the amp) along with my Berzerk yaya! I am considering "kitting" the road runner if people would prefer me to post that, then trasnpose my roadblasters kit into the cab as looking at the main pcb the edge connectors look toasted!

Upright Disc of tron re-photoed with marquee and running.

Food fight has had its NOS CPO installed and t-moulding fitted and looks WAY much better.

Yesterday I also got the Canyon Bomber running for the first time Ive seen it going! And also got the cosmic guerilla running :)

Yes Mav has paid for the sinistar cockpit (its in y garage waiting for me to pallet it) but not heard from either since he paid for it. Ive tested the xevious pcb on my test rig so I know that works so its just a power and perhaps monitor issue.

Also Superully - I did take a pic or two of that qix control panel I have. Now i think its from a Japanese Qix cabinet - did you see the pics. I presume of no use!
Seconly - STILL trying to fidn the bakc door keys and would hate to bust a fort lock!

Regards, rav

CABS FOR SALE:
This list is now kinda sorted into: price-condition-name:

Just been through this list to update it - and add a breif description now its not 100s of cabs!
Pictures of the machines are at http://www.retrokade.com/sales

ALL PRICES ARE IN UK STERLING.

150-u-Virtua Striker
Not tested this yet. Was working. Have NOS Side art to replaced ripped stuff on it. Also comes with VS2 Control panel and Nos VS1 CPO - everything to make this machine a minter and have some modern stick spares.

150-np-pole position
Chassis taken out but with cab, I think its a worker. Replacement steering wheel as one on it is bent is included - got bent when t he cab fell forward off my trolley. The wood either side of the wheel have some minor crushing but the wheel took the brunt. The namco PCB is with another collector atm. I have a booty (all customs hacked) untested pole position PCB thou. Side art nice

150-nm-sega mega tech
Main monitor isn't running, little one and cab is. Carts in the machine are Columns, Alter Beasts, Afterburner, Astro Warrior, Golden Axe, Ghouls'n Ghosts, Tetris and Sonic the Hedgehog.

150-u-Colony 7 Taito (JAMMA)
Taito Qix shell that has been converted to JAMMA in the past. I made a Colony 7 control panel marquee and bezel fit. Game board is infamous for being romswappable to defender and so very rare. Pedestal base bust but easy to fix. Currently undecided if I'll let this go actually...

225-nm-mortal kombat 2
Not sure if the monitor works on this one - pretty sure the chassis maybe dead... PCB isn't well either as I've tried it on my test rig. Have brand new buttons (and sticks) to really make that control panel work wonders. Nice side art, great cab, of course JAMMA..

250-np-1942
Capcom upright. Has repro 1943 side art on although its bubbled a bit but would stick down again with some more glue. The black vinyl on one side has peeled but is complete and again could be stuck back easily. Bezel is Perspex with a 1943 bezel behind. Street fighter 1 control panel (i have PCB marquee and maybe bezel still if someone whats to make it a street fighter again). Cabs JAMMA with adapter for commando. PCB dead. I think the monitors ok - cant remember! Have a 1943 cpo somewhere too

250-np-Alpine Ski
Worked last time I turned it on although I think some minor graphics glitches. Although dedicated Taito m.2 cab would make nice JAMMA cab (gasp)! Side art and artwork nice all round actually.

250-u-neo geo 6-slot
Monitor isn't working - not investigated why it died. Board is working. illuminated panel never worked iirc. no carts in the cabinet, but if people want to get them I have blues journey, metal slug 1, pulstar, puzzle bobble, super sidekicks 3, top players golf and world heroes2 that we can do a deal on.

250-w-toobin
Working fine. Cab in nice condition, green bias it quite high on the monitor and perhaps needs adjusting but all working very nicely!

275-nm-stun runner
Cabinet working, can hear the game running blind - yes the monitor died over the winter (was a wg7000 series new I put in).

300-nm-virtua racing
Plugged in the other day, working boards but the vertical deflection on t he monitor has collapsed - the top half of the picture a single line and only 1-2 inches of bottom half showing. Side art nice, cant remember if force feedback worked.

350-np-Centipede project
Complete cab as a project for someone to do and finish off. New trackball and rollers fitted, CPO included but not fitted, bezel has bottom scratched black and marquee is fine. Also brand new blue inner bezel for it. No back door. Also complete wiring harness uncut included. no monitor atm but loads of unknown condition ones on the shelf. PCB being repaired. Also to be included if a full set of centipede side art from arcadeshop so someone can make this a peachier than peach cab if they put the effort in.

350-np-Elevator Action
Not tested recently as g07 chassis not in cab atm - but it should work. PCB didn't work last time i tried it however. Has nos overlay installed nice bezel and marquee. in very tidy shape. Looks like original wiring (i seem to recall it was JAMMA but i could be wrong). Nice rare horizontal cab.

350-np-silent scope
Monitor works, power supply issue (not juicing enough +5 to run the PCBs) so not knowing if the PCBs work. did buy new PSU for it but it blew up when i tried it :( So waiting for replacement. Never played this one but it arrived working when I picked it up.

350-w-ice cold beer
Taitel prize version, working. great game, great condition. not sure why I'm selling it LOL so another I might change my mind ;)

350-u-Tokyo wars
Mostly working - I think a PCB set has a ram chip error. I have 2-3 spare sets to go with this cab however. very tidy, complete - oh and sound doesn't work in one of the seats for some unlooked at reason.

375-np-roadblasters
Monitor works - cab in nice condition. The main PCB edge connector to the daughter board is fooked but never got round to repairing it. Maybe that's all that wrong with it... Nice control panel too!

425-nm-Omega Race
Playing blind. Cab in nice condition indeed. Monitor not working. All original and the lights working control panel nice. tidy piece again I like but might consider a quick sale.

450-w-Pacmania
Fully working, colour a bit blue so needs setting the RGB biases and drives and re-balance it. I have just purchased a NOS Atari stick to replace the German one on it.Side art nice, sound sometimes dims as thou amps on the way out perhaps...

500-w-Domino Man
Just got this working again. Cab artwork is in lovely condition and looks fantastic! original wiring Linear and pcbs. Monitor has some heavy screen burn but still a nice picture. Cab needs a bit of suring up as it took a hit in shipping but is just a case of osome internal battonning and not a biggie. A unqiue and lovely machine!

500-np-Defender Project 2
Currently a pile of parts. At the moment it has a hyper sport control panel, PCB and wiring inside. I think the monitor didn't work. I have to be installed/included marquee, bezel, CPO, buttons (not sure i have spare stick). need wiring harness. can include non-working PCB set in the price too. Side art 5/10. hardboard back door i made included

550-np-Defender project-1
This ones better and much closer to working. i have priced with a non-working PCB set in it and missing wiring harness. brand new control panel buttons rebuilt stick and CPO. bezel nice but dusty, marquee. Side art 5/10. need wiring harness and TLC. hardboard back door i made included.

550-w-crazy taxi
Working original crazy taxi with seat, and in very nice condition. lovely picture and most artwork is intact. has original topper and brand new foam seat on it.

550-w-roadrunner
Fully working - nice marquee, control panel and good picture. Joystick is a Mk. 1 hall effect so feels quite slack (they felt like that anyway) but works. Would sell the road runner as a kit for £250 and keep the shell. Side art in good nick iirc.

650-np-Tac/Scan
Sick. Monitor is now not working but can hear defection chatter so HV problem? we didn't even get to try the PCBs but before the monitor went it was drawing the game as dots. has a PC PSU in stalled for better power but again just not working. Cab leans a bit and needs leg levelers and one side at the bottom leveling out. Such a brilliant game - just too much attention needed and also with that g08 it need s constantly to be watched and not left on to catch fire LOL!

725-w-Phoenix
Fully working and in immaculate condition. most beautiful side art, and coin door you've ever seen (with centuri logo). Game plays and monitor looks nice. Control panel is 9.10 but will come with a nos CPO. this cab would be 10/10 if I replaced the 9/10 CPO but that's a crime in my eyes!

800-w-Food Fight
Cab in nice shape - lovely artwork - fully working. picture to die for. installed the nos CPO and put new t-molding on. this cabs looks beautiful. has a lose bit of wood near the marquee that needs gluing and clamping and some work near the control panel but no artwork damaged and in the white. will then look 9/10 when finished. a beautiful; piece and cracking game

800-w-Juno First
Fully working. hah PCBs in cocktail mod e- must flip that switch! I think one direction on t he joystick wasn't working but that's just down to dirty connection on the board. good picture, cab in 8/10 condition and side art in nice shape. CPO original and 8/10 also. don't really want to sell but the price reflects this at this point. Very likely to be taken off for sale some time soon.

800-w-Bubble Bobble
This cab works apart from there is no sound from the PCB. Cabinet is a joust underneatht he balck paint. Romstar sideart is very nice - I have A3 sized custom side art that I bought that could be put on. Can get pictures. Ive also just ordered a monitor bezel from mamemarquees.com so it'll look nice and that will be included. Monitor has some heavyish screen burn. Control panel is a Romstar Generic abut in good condition. The BB stickers have worn a bit though. I have NOs romstar CPO and side art for and extra £50 if someone wishes to realyl go to town. Again only for sale for space issues.

900-n-robotron
Euro Roby (black one). New CPO installed and new  nice sticks. no monitor bezel. us marquee cut down. I just got the PCBs (well main and ROM) to work on the test bench (ribbon cable issue) and the monitor works. just installed switcher for power reliability but can be removed as linear works still. Side art is 8/10 but the cab is a bit worn at the bottom. been filled by previous collector I got it from. just needs spraying black. Front at the bottom is missing 2" of wood and a bigger patch job required. Noticed theres no pictures of this at the moment. I'll remedy this next week once the PCBs are back in and working.

950-np-joust 2
Reluctant sale, but space and if someone made an offer it would go. has exploding Williams side art not the joust rider on it. PCB might have an issue - i forget. I think the monitor works but missing the wg7000 adjustment board so draws flat line at the moment. CPO, bezel and marquee immaculate. genuine Williams rarity - again only up for grabs temporarily as i make room!

1000-w-Class of 81
Fully working, lovely pictures. was bought virtually brand new. plays ms pac and galaga (Easter egg pac-man also available). Nice side art front art, CPO immaculate and needs a clean 9-10/10 cab!

1000-np-reactor
Lovely side art 9/10. new CPO and brand new at the time trackball installed. Marquee is mint but have spare which would be included. Definitely has power issue so not sure at the PCB end if its working or not. Cracking cab! Cracking sounds and another sad one to see go....
