I was at Dragon*Con last year (and the last 10 in a row) and did not see this group there (there were  25,000 last year). There was another guy I saw dressed up as Dirk and he looked great. He was skinnier than the guy in the video so he looked more like Dirk. If I can find a way to post my pictures on a free web site I will come back and post the pics I have of this guy. Great site!

...but where's Daphne  :P  8)

You use to go every year at the convention, do you wear a costume too ?

My wife and I have been going 10 years now to Dragon*Con. We mainly go to see the sci-fi authors and comic book writers and artists. We do not have any costumes but love seeing the amazing creations that evryone comes up with. I have been to the costume contest at Comic-Con in San Diego and it was not in the same league as Dragon*Con.

In 2001 Don Bluth and Gary Goldman were special guests. They designed the membership badges and Don won the first 'Iron Artist' competition. They auctioned off the art he drew for charity and it was sold for $700!

I did get to talk to both of them and Don drew me a Dirk, Daphne and Singe sketch. He drew a Mrs. Brisby and Littlefoot sketch for my wife. They are hanging im my son's room.

Impressive... you got the chance to meet Don Bluth 'the man' ... and having a personal draw from him WOW  :shock:  :o

I hope he will maybe see this topic... and tell us why he's not with his Daphne...  :P

But 'our' Dirk is coming from the 2005 edition.

Great pictures! I will be at Dragon*Con again this September. If he is there again and I find him and I will talk to him about the costume. There are 25,000-30,000 poeple for thie event, but he should be easy to spot!
